Actually, I would go one step further and say that players in this circumstance have a free pass and can QQ with impunity. I actually feel bad now.

i wont ever QQ about this, i will morne its loss sure, but its an adapt or die world we live in.

its sad to see the demo- logi powerhouse go for sure, its simply no longer justifyable even if it is technically still viable.

a big part of my playstyle was that hacking bonus though and im definatly not the type of logi that would run around with a rep tool as its too passive for my taste, i was an acceptable breed of slayer logi, because i wasnt going for pure EHP and FOTM weapon i was fully loaded with expencive and cpu/pg intensive equipment and went in to every game with the expectation that at some point i would ultimatly suicide my proto suit for a win with either a clutch ninja hack or using myself as bait in the middle of my own minefields.

the Minja way wont be the same however, because i will inevitably lack the nanohives that let me acomplish some of my more extensive R/E stratagies but i will adapt never the less and try to bring some new ideas and passion to the minja way using my experiances thus far.

alot is going to change with 1.8 and it will be as different from pre 1.8 as the game was pre uprising, and alot of people are going to find themselves in a similar situation to me where their previous playstyle will have to undergo radical changes and maybe even comeplete overhauls.


i made this thread in memory to my faithful logi suit, that "Sever" logi has served me well for a year now and while i will still inevitably skill into it, it just wont have the same life it once had, and will be tucked saftly away at the bottom of my fittings as nothing more then a cheap uplink suit.


R.I.P demo-logi, you served me well and carried me through the rough early months of my dust carrier and made me the player i am today.

I will continue to be a DemoLogi, though I will also be experimenting with Minja more in depth than I have previously.

are you sticking with minmatar? (assuming you are minmater :P) and picking up a repair tool or are you swapping for something you can use the bonus from?

My play style died when 1.7 came out! Then Dust died for me for a good 6 months! Looks like this merc is digging up his own grave!

With 1.8 my potent domilitions minmatar logi will be dead and gone sadly and i know alot of you inthe community here follow a similar path.

winmatar logi with max hacking and 1 complex hack module, packing remotes in various flavors and nanohives to supply.

the key part of the spec that justified it was the hacking bonus, it alowed me to justify not being your typical logi while maintaining some amazing squad utility and massive defencive potential.

unfortunatly that hack bonus is being replaced by a repair bonus, one that i will never use. So i started searching for new alturnatives, the caldari logi was attractive since the nanohive nerf would be countered by its bonus and i would actually be able to make use of a logi bonus that way but it just diddnt feel right with my minmatar roots. The gallante bonus has the scanning bonus and while i sometimes use a scanner the incoming nerf means your going to be a sitting duck while your scanning for even longer post 1.8, not only that but its terribly slow and for a speed reak like me it just couldnt hold a candle to what i could originally do, and dont even ask about amaar.

It looks like the minmatar scout will be the go-to suit for those of us who are dedicated to the way of the BOOM, combining with the rich Minja history and bringing to it a vast weath of knowledge of the use and abuse of our favorite little packages.

come 1.8 i have to say goodbye to the suit that served me well for so long, and venture into the world of subterfuge, assasination, quick thinking, and even quicker reflexes.

who else amung us explosive specialists will be moving on and following the hacking bonus from the minmatar logi to the Minja scout?

I hate your mine fields..... all those humiliations were made up for when I shot you out of the air mid jump on the fly in a tank with a rail gun.

if your talking about AV you should be ashamed of yoruself.

people abandoning AV rather then step up their game is part of the reason tanks are as big a problem as they are.

us demo guys picked up your slack even though weve been blowing up tanks with R/Es since the begining, most tankers arnt any more intellegent then they were before, it just requires planning to kill them off now rather then point and BOOM.
