Let's get a few things out of the way first.
One - I am indeed a vet of sorts. I've been around since the start of Open Beta. To the Closed Beta vets, you probably think that being an Open Beta vet doesn't mean much, mainly since the argument back then was that the game was technically 'released' with a beta tag on it to justify the whole slew of bugs the game had.
Two - I haven't played DUST much since the launch of Uprising. Aside from logging in now and then to manage my skill points (sometimes reset) I haven't been around much.
Three - This will be a long, probably multi-post rant. So please bear with me.
Shout out to Nova Knife. Long time no see man! =)
So let's get started shall we. So earlier today, I decided to play DUST. I mean, actually play. Log in, manage skills and fittings, then get down and dirty by shooting people's faces off ... or in my case, repairing other people's faces before they were shot to the point of being unrecognizable. As I played a few matches (I even gave FacWar a spin) and floated around the established game features. I noticed that there were some new things ... some things missing ... and other random musings crossed my mind. So let me begin with the more ... I guess we can say 'Important' thoughts, and move down to the random wishes.
The Market For the love of god, why can we still not at least sell to CONCORD or another NPC corp? I don't give a damn who buys it, I just want to sell my excess gear. We've been asking for some way to rid ourselves of our useless junk for as long as I can remember. I understand, that there are probably more pressing matters to attend to (like hit detection for instance) but I personally believe that it's not so hard to implement an option to sell something at the Market for half the buy value. We can worry about the Player to Player trading when the time comes ... but something basic is much needed.
The Content I love some of the new stuff I found. Those Combat Rifles are a blast eh guys? And those Rail Rifles are pretty cool too. I'm happy to have some new toys to play with =D. One question though. What ever happened to the Pilot Dropsuits? I mean, the idea has been there for a while now, and from what I understand, the market tab for them has been there a while as well ... as cold and as empty as it's ever been. Although, I had a large list of things to comment on about the dropsuit content, I was told on Squad comms that the new build should be introducing a lot of the missing content when it comes to the suits. But in case it doesn't I'll post a short list of the suits we need to balance the scale. The rest of the missing suits, you can figure out for yourselves dear readers.
There is one, major suit we need in there, and it's a Caldari Heavy suit. Not because I like Caldari (Long live the Minmatar!) but because they're the only ones with the short end of the stick. Every race, has two Med frames in the Assault, and Logistics variants. The Light Scouts have Minmatar and Gallente, while the Heavy frames only have Amarr. So do the math. That's 3 suits, per race with the exception of the Caldari who only have the two Med. frames. If only one new suit were to be introduced in the next patch, I hope it's the Caldari Heavy cause they could use that one more suit.
Here's a funny musing. Think of the original Heavy suit (now known as a Sentinel). Think of the weapons it can use. It's an Amarr made suit ... who's only weapons in its arsenal are a Caldari Forge gun (it's a big railgun) and the Minmatar HMG (it's projectile-based). Those of you well versed in the lore of New Eden might recognize it as odd that the Amarrs would craft a battle suit for the ground, but neglect to give them weapons. |
