I saw the lego movie last night. It was amazing, you should all go see it, it was hilarious and moving, it really captured for me and allowed me to relive that powerful imagination of youth.
But it also got me thinking. I saw frozen about a month ago, and thought that was really good too. Definitely the best disney movie princess movie I have ever seen if you can really call it that.
Disney, of course though, has nothing on Pixar. Need I say anymore about Up! after this amazing opening? I'm a full grown man and it still just made me cry.
And then there's this short thoroughly amazing rendered and full of imagination. Kind of reminds me of a less sad version of Wall-E, another great Pixar film.
And then of course there's Finding Nemo, and the Toy Story series, Shrek and the Incredibles. And who's seen the Iron Giant. Great film, one of my old favorites.
All of this leads me to a statement I know the full implications of. There is no going back from this: I know full and well that I am crossing the Rubicon, but with Miyazaki retiring there's no backing away from it, this truth must be stated.
Western animation has grown to surpass anime in every way. The battle lines are drawn, let there be no backing down. This means war.

I completely forgot about wreck it Ralph. Great movie too. Also Rango was amazing too. Highly underrated at the time. Believe me, I am well aware of Disney owning Pixar, but even when companies are owned often the companies still operate under much different standards of quality (chipotle and mcdonalds for instance).
