With the projected changes to dropsuit skills in 1.8 we will need Dropsuit Command rediversified. By extension, we will need Dropsuit Upgrades. Weaponry is optional, but I would suggest CCP gives this one us. We deserve it due to the wait being asked of us for 1.8.

Can you explain the reasons behind each part of the skill tree in a specific thread for that part of the skill tree? 
@CCP: Is the Cloaking Fields and Profile Dampeners reduction to Scan Profile stacking penalized when added together?

I second the opinion of the original poster wholeheartedly and believe that his opinion is in actuality one agreed upon by the masses.
I foresee a dismal end to the denizens of CCP Shanghai if they are to ignore such a request.

Why do we need a refund of the SP in Dropsuit Command?
For a moment, let's put aside the changes to the logi and assault dropsuits. Let's focus on the racial parity of the sentinel, commando, and scout dropsuits. Mercs have been forced to invest SP into Amarr commando and sentinel; no other heavy dropsuit races were available until 1.8. They may have wanted a Minmatar commando or Caldari sentinel, but simply did not have the option. They should not be punished simply because CCP did not have it's game ready on launch. The same logic can be applied to Amarr and Caldari scouts.
The changes being proposed to the logistics and assault dropsuits change how mercs will fit their dropsuits as well as their playstyle. For example, Caldari assault will be losing its bonus with shield extenders, making it a softer target and altering how many mercs fit for a tank. So you say, "This is for the sake of balancing!" We, the community, did not make the balancing mistakes to begin with, so we should not have to suffer with them now.
Why do we need a refund of the SP in Dropsuit Upgrades?
Since dropsuit upgrades contains a large amount of skills that are tied to tanking (dropsuit armor upgrades and it's sub-skills, dropsuit shield upgrades and it's sub-skills), and tanking is tied to racial dropsuit choice, it only makes sense to provide a refund to this tree as well.
