Minecraft
3D, 3 different realms, no magic, 5 types of vanilla armor (I can only remember Leather, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Chain (which can't be crafted)), infinite worlds unless going down, creative mode, etc.
Terraria
2D (which actually is attractive to some people like myself), no different realms (as far as I know, but there is the Hallowed and the Crimson/Corrupted), MAGIC AND SPELLZ, much more than 5 types of armor, NOT infinite worlds (but you can go downwards for much longer), no creative mode, etc.
If anything, Terraria is more like Starbound, but that'd make Starbound the Terraria Knockoff, as Terraria came first. :P

You might be getting 1.2 soon. PC Terraria recently got a new (big) update. Have fun with 1.2 though! :D

How is Terraria on PS3?
I have the PC version and it seems like it would be hard to manage without a mouse.
