Does anyone currently do this? I was thinking that with such a large natural base EHP the reps would be given enough time to actually make a difference when coupled with strafing. Was thinking about trying it out, any thoughts? |

He said 'strafing.' I find much humor in that.

If you can guarantee that you can kill everyone inside 600 armour, then sure.
Speed tanking is much more amusing.
Can you say 'outrun scouts in a fatsuit?'

With heavies it is far better to boost your base armour HP with plates in your lows and be armour repped by a logi.
Being repped from cover by two logis using advanced or proto reppers makes you nigh on impossible to kill without using a rail turret.
I remember one memorable match as an Assault suit with a Duvalle being repped in such a way and taking on 8 players at range in no cover.
They all died, my armour never dropped below half. Awesome.

with full skills u get 25hps regen. its not bad for a little run and gun but to to improve manouverability i prefer 2 complex reppers and complex red and green bottle, stick an advanced combat rifle, complex damage mod and sidearm and a flux nade and your pretty much sorted

Stick at least one plate on. Otherwise you aren't going to live long enough to benefit from the reps.
No.

I'm guessing you meant on a heavy, seeing as everyone else seems to have gone that route. It really isn't that bad of an idea for them, means less time ducking behind cover and more time shooting people, but it's more of a 1v1 thing because you're not likely to have the HP to take on two guys. Maybe once the Gallente heavy comes out...
This can work on an amarr logi too, but the low base HP doesn't make it every effective. 35 reps a second almost puts you up there with a scout's shield recharge rate though, but with all the rail rifles and combat rifles running around right now, it doesn't really work. Once the TTK gets changed though, this might be a valid strategy.

1 complex plate, 1 complex kin cat, 2x complex armor reps is the way to go for me
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

What they're not supposed to be is irrelevant. What they ARE is all that matters, and right now, the Gallentes ARE better armor tankers than Amarr, who are simply the balanced shield/armor tankers. But eh, the suits haven't dropped yet, so we can only wait and see what the stats will be.

Yeah...you need the extra HP for the reps to be useful. The 4th one barely makes a difference anyways. Two plates/two reps works for me...but two reps and two sprint mods works well too (6.5 sprint with complex)
I think two is good enough as it effectively doubles the speed at which you rep. Instead of taking 100 seconds to rep from 0, it only takes 50. 3 would decrease it to 30ish seconds, where the fourth would only be 24 seconds.
