I don't mind waiting for 1.8 to come in March. I'd rather you guys get it right than try to rush something buggy out. Having said that, Feb. is more than halfway over, and 1.7 was released back in December. The last images we've seen of the missing suits was fanfest 2013, nearly a year ago. The last images of the socket you've been working on was ages ago, and we've never seen how the cloaking effects will look when stationary, moving slowly, sprinting, etc.
I realize most of this stuff is still being worked on, but could we please get some previews of the upcoming goodies? It doesn't have to be a big, epic polished blog post, just some informal pics/video every few days. Even concept art would be better than nothing. Your art team does awesome work, you should show it off more.

You aren't the first to ask for concept art and art assets.... you wont be the last. I support the release of unused or scrapped art assets as it would give us players new content to look at and look forwards to.
Please CCP, CPM1 you're my only hope!

After Uprisings release the forums were a bad place, I'll never forget how CCP screwed up so badly.

How closely do the new suits replicate this concept art we were shown a long time ago? Are they changed much or very similar? |

I wish I can remember that website name but I saw a couple of concept works from artists that drew for Dust 514. It was some pretty cool stuff on there...find myself getting lost just browsing portfolios.

I wish that they would use the color scheme from that concept art on the Gallente scout. I frikin' hate the current Gallente scout color scheme. Good news though, the Gallente heavy is the most awesome looking heavy of them all. Let's just hope it retains its color scheme.

Can confirm - am CCP Blowout.
We're trying to get an Artist Spotlight as a regular monthly feature from here on out. So far we are two for two, which is a fantastic 100% success rate. |

I guess my point is if some suits are ready, you should post them and not wait for all suits to be perfect before posting them all at once in a big blog post that could take a while to draft, edit and get approved. Same for weapons, or other goodies. You can still do the blog posts, but don't let it hold you back from the occasional pic here and there.
As always, I look forward to reading the newsletter, and seeing the fruits of your labor.

How do the technical artists feel about the PS3's limitations and how it affects their high-resolution/high-poly work? Any plans on encouraging some of the technical artists come onto the forums for some community time?

I agree. I was always baffled when reviews mentioned "generic scifi" art. I was like...
What are you comparing it to? EVE? We aren't going to have asymmetrical dropsuits with an arm coming out of the forehead.
The art design in this game is great, especially the suits and the Research Facility.
