I was destroyed in a heavy suit by a std scrambler rifle. He's in a gallente dropsuit, so I know he doesn't have enough high slots to stack a ton of damage mods. It took less than half a second to kill me with 700 armor and sounded like an automatic. I've been proto in scramblers for nearly a year now so I'm familiar with the fire pattern and damage. **** like this makes this game not fun. |

Neither a feature nor an idea. More of a rant than anything else but yes, the Scrambler's rate of fire is a known is-.... well, I won't say issue, but I will say aspect. It's a known aspect and it's entirely possible that he wasn't using a modded controller to do this. Point in case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXeML0Zu9tQ
I use the stock DS3 Six-Axis that came with the PS3.

It's not that hard to fire a weapon extremely fast. I remember that back in COD I use to.jam guns constantly by firing faster than 850 RPM.

You consistently tap faster than 14 times per second? I call BS.

I can do 13/sec on my semi auto purely mechanical paintball gun (For those of you who know anything about paintball guns, I'm using a WGP 2K2 Autococker with the finger guard removed to allow a longer trigger) with its longer trigger walking my fingers (I have been playing for 15 years though) and if I get the placement just right on the PS3 controller I can walk my fingers on R1 at the same speed. Edit: Not saying that every player can do it, just saying its possible.
I am here to ask you one question, and one question only: EXPLOSIONS?

All I can say is "get gud". If you get torn down at close range while in a Heavy suit, you're doing something wrong.

I can just confirm this. If you dual trigger R1 you can easily get to 12-15 per second. |

And as always, if you see someone boosting, report it! The GMs take great pleasure in squishing people that boost in these events. [emphasis added]
I usually keep things like this to myself. it is an ongoing frustration and in light of the above I felt it was the appropriate response. You may argue venue and that's fine. Where should we report these then? Also, the post timestamp would be consistent with the time the event occurred. |

everyone is aware there is 2 scrambler rifles??
there is the semi auto version that has the charge up option and there is a full auto version as well.
no one is using a modded controller with scrambler rifles, they are using the auto version. the crd-9 assault iirc is the full auto one.
i have the full auto one.. you need scrambler rifle level 4 to unlock the advanced version.
do people use modded controllers... hell yes, but the fast firing scrambler is usually a full auto one. |

I don't think CCP considers modded controllers as "boosting". Unless of course the definition has been changed to include modded controllers.
