(for you MAG players you'll know exactly where this is from) (didn't want this to die in features and ideas so repost)
2 Medium or Outposts have massive shield generators around them and some EVE pilot wants to bombard the assets to damage their enemies war machine, however the capsuleers turret can't get through the shield generator so it need's to be taken out from the inside.
1 Team of mercs, (defenders) must protect both defense relays from enemy attackers, the defense relays are located within the shield generators Defenders Can't shoot out of the generator and attackers can't shoot in, you need to walk through or drive through.
The other team, (attackers) must fight there way into the socket and capture and hold both defense relays simultaneously. After :45 seconds of the attackers holding the defense relays the shields go down and the outposts are bombarded into oblivion by an NPC pilot.
After this the the Attackers take over the former defense relays as their new spawn and must push forward to the enemy whatever (clone bank, orbital artillary, cargo hub) that the NPC wants control of due to it being a strategic structure, and take control of a Command Node or something that captures that structure for the NPC, if the node is hacked there is a 2 minute turn over timer, if the attackers capture and hold it from the defenders for 2 minutes the battle ends.
Defenders win by holding out for a certain amount of time or cloning the enemy
There would be 3 different types of victories which dictate your payout
Major Defeat: If defenders couldn't hold the 2 defense relays and the command node, or if attackers couldn't take either Minor Defeat: attackers took relays but not node, defenders held node but not relays Major Victory: Defenders held everything, attackers took everything
this could be a Public and FW mode

This. I do miss this from MAG, but this was also basically Scrmish 1.0.

No. We need in-space wars with warbarge vs warbarge with dropships delivering assault squads into the enemy warbarge, while fighters, jets, etc. take out turrets on the warbarge, stop enemy dropships/fighters, etc.
In other words, I think im gonna go have to buy starwars battlefront 2 for PC since my ps3 doesn't play ps2 games.
How to get likes: post QQ reply to every thread where a PC corps players post claiming they only win cus "FOTM"

MAG Sabotage was a great Game mode. VERY Fit for Dust514 considering the amount of players per game: 16 vs 16.

I had the same idea. The defenders have to clone the attackers and the attackers have to hack the objective before being cloned. I support any and all new game types.

I don't understand why an NPC pilot delivering the strike.
This would be a perfect gamemode for EVE pilots to control themselves. What i mean is that this gamemode would be initiated by pilots themselves. They would go over to the planet they wanted to target and connect to it to start the attack. They could either start it and expect people to fill in the spots or they could fill out which corp/alliance they'd reserve the spots for, so that they could coordinate with specific mercenaries.
Also, the planet owners could benefit from specific defenders if we finally were able to travel. If we could, perhaps EVE corps would be interested in having us take residence in their territory. What i envision would be that when a pilot would initiate this gamemode, allied dust mercs residing close by would receive an alarm on their screen that territory is under attack. These mercs would take precedence in occupying the defender spots but it would open up to the general public if not enough people ran to the battlefield on time. Same would go for the attacker's side.
Finally, an EVE pilot initiating a battle this way could make him a target for ground orbital cannons. The defender team could opt to not just defend but try to activate the orbital cannon. This solves the dilemma of implementing skyfire because it always knows what it is targetting. The EVE pilot would be aware of this risk and if damaged could just disconnect escaping the orbital cannon's lock but prompting a win for the defenders.

Sounds like fun! Would certainly give dropship pilots more of a role. Let's also have the MCC move with the attack like in skirmish 1.0 and have friendly structures dropped from orbit at the downed shield generators setting up a makeshift FOB.
Would this be like bf rush for clone counts? Do the attckers get additional clones after the shields are down? Or a larger clone count, say 500 for the entire operation? |

For the most part this would be great in FW if a pilot could fly to a specific district and initiate battles across the planet, it not onl would allow dust corps to strike specific localities, but also Q-sync their squads against those localities.
For pubs you cannot rely on an EVE player to do this as we have nothing they want.

I think this could be good for both pub, and FW/PC type modes.
pub, there is NPC pilot. others a real EVE pilot is required.
However, what I didnt see, is more of a space aspect. That is to say, victory for defenders can be achieved EITHER by
- timeout - cloning out invaders - defeating ship in space.
If the ship leaves, or is destroyed, automatic invade fail.
pub/NPC style, would not have that last one, though.
