I think it may be to hard to overall dmg mods, providing they don't drop them of course.
I think they will either have a new penlty(I suggested that awhile ago actually) or just dropped really low.
Say 2/3/5 or maybe 2/4/6
I personally think they should be gotten rid of, but that would require all weapons and maybe even vehicles to be completely rebalanced.

IMO, I'd like to see them tweaked and moved onto the weapon. Weapon based modding instead of having them used in place of utility modules.

I'd like to see the % dropped to something. 5% is probably a little too low for prototype so maybe 7.5%?
Weapon modding would be brilliant but it's a lot of work for the devs so it's not going to happen anytime soon. Thus we need a bandaid solution to get things into a better place in the mean time. |

I agree that adding a modifier to a weapon is a good idea, I doubt we will see anything that complex in dust anytime soon.

I completely agree. 1 (Imo 1 is enough) Weapon Mod Slot for: Damage Modifiers, Passive or Active Heat Sinks, Faster Reload, Extended Clips and Ammunition Storage, Increased Accuracy, Tighter Hipspread... You get the idea lolz. I also think they should be unlocked by the gun Skills we already have like Sharpshooter for example! I'm sure this would help a lot of things but I doubt this will ever happen. :P

About a year ago CCP posted that a modular weapon design was 'ready', but nothing has yet come of that. There are probably higher priorities.
TBH, why not take it further than just one slot for pure effectiveness modification? Why not have a choice of scopes (like reflex, 2x, or 4x for a rifle) or barrels (longer barrel for tighter hipfire), and a bunch of other things.
