Please consider skipping to the questions at the bottom What follows is me thinking out loud after reading a few posts on player to player item trading.
So, I -like all of you. I would love to see a corporation armory. The ability to trade items within a corporation. Benefits of this are readily apparent and include: 1. Unloading the buttload of unusable gear that we are all sitting on. (Maybe not you folks that I see using officer gearGǪ) 2.Corporations can hook up the newbs! 3.ItGÇÖs a way to keep stuff in house without fGÇÖing up the greater economy (theoretically). 4.It is gear that has a higher likelihood of being used (getting destroyed) before making its way to a formal player market GÇôat least for PC and tournament corporations. (theoretically)
ItGÇÖs these last two parts IGÇÖm getting stuck on. IGÇÖm not going to pretend to have any business or economics background much less an understanding of all that is entailed in managing a virtual economy and accounting for the unanticipated consequences of just GÇÿsetting up shopGÇÖ - but the intent of keeping things in house seems easily exploitable.
Drawbacks:
Black Market: As we already have the ability to transfer ISK to and from characters. Adding the ability to trade amongst members in a corporation opens the door for mercenaries to join a corporation in order to GÇ£tradeGÇ¥ items and receive payment by ISK transfer. We already went through the ISK-mule phase prior to player to player ISK transfers.
Possible solutions to black market:
Have an armorer role which may grant corporation members the ability to set up trade contracts within the corporation. This is a weak solution as it is still exploitable for black market purposes. However, it requires oversight at the leadership level. This grants corporations greater power to attempt to keep the assets in house. Though, corporation leadership could decide that it wants to become Merc-mart and there would be nothing to stop players form setting up Merc-mart corporations.
Could you restrict players from conduct trades in a corporation armory area for the first 30 days after they joined? This also seems exploitable and would simply only slow or delay efflux of gear into the black market economy.
IGÇÖll stop torturing you all there. I just wanted to give an example of how I end up chasing my tail as I think about this.
****
My main question is: Is it even possible to implement a corporation armory or player to player trading before a well-designed player market is in place?
Secondly: My few ideas all end up in the black-market, though, IGÇÖm hard pressed to care. I see a re-distribution of assets with some gear getting burned up by players in PC battles and others hoarding it to become the future arms dealers of DUST. If the previous and current PC ISK faucet hasnGÇÖt pre-doomed the DUST economy than why not allow some version of the corporation armory anyway?
Someone fix my thought process, please.

I like the Idea, and I wouldn't mind corp armory before p2p trading like how ISK transfers were
also filling up on LP rifles to give to newbies would be nicer than giving ISK

+1 PLEASE!!!
Also, being able to resell your useless gear or gear you accidently buy thinking it was something else directly from DUST to the New Eden market would be extremely helpful. |

Sounds like an idea and as an infantry based player I'd love to sell off all my vehicles and equipment I'm not using for cheap, like 10-25% off cheap, i really don't need a lot of the stuff i got as salvage
