Just played him in a pub, sent him a 'gg' and he responded
'k??'
Then, my squadmates told me he is a total d*ckhead and arrogant. Is this true?
It seems every 'gg' I send, most of them get responded to with gosh diggity darn balarky. I think I'm going to just stop sending them...

I send them out religiously, but 505 of them don't get any response (which of fine) and 25% of them get responded with d*ckish stuff.

Just my opinion, but when people give me a GG, it generally translates to me as "Get Good Scrub, we owned you that round." Especially if they won that round. It's a polite form of gloating.

Try to send a "Well Done" to someone I saw quite a bit during the match. Most of the time it's someone I 1v1 with. Generally get one back.
I would rather die my way than live by yours.

How i see it its only right to send a gg to someone if u lost. When u win it just looks like ur rubbing it in.
Even still i think its just stupid to send gg after pub matchs cause they dnt mean ****. Unless u guys had some good back n fourth 1v1s or actually know eachother.
n also people saying i send gg win/lose who cares, thats u. other people maybe not like that so just move on

I don't like GG messages, personally. As was said, feels like polite gloating in most cases.
Often I'll be the only one worth a damn on my team and I'll be up against an enemy squad. I'll do what I can, but ultimately sometimes its just too much for me. The enemy will then send "GG" and I'll be thinking to myself.... "No. No it wasn't. How the hell was that anything resembling a good game?" |

No, it's the players who ask for cheesy mechanics that ruin the game.
I never understand "gamesmanship". For instance, dudes sending a "gl" right before a match. Why would I wish you good luck?I'm competitive....right before a match, I want you to burn.

This happened yesterday to us.
I got GG after the game, responded with: 'Nah, it was bad game. We didn't stand a chance.'
Our team got rather steamrolled, but on this occasion the GG was nice because we got good battles with the guy who sent it to me.

Because games are about having fun. The attitude of most of the people that play this game is sour and abhorrent. I think the problem is with the world to be honest. |

Single player games are about having fun.....competitive games are about winning. Even in pubs, because you're trying to be the best....or you may be competing for stats (KDR, WLR), ISK, etc.
Any one of those ball sports, guys play for fun but it's competitive and people cry when they lose.
For fun, one would play campaign or co-op mode where the competiition level is 0. Or, Tetris, mario, batman, Zelda, etc

Yes he is an arrogant Pr**k and a massive trashtalker.
thing is, he's on the level he can do that if he so chooses.
he doesn't like being bothered with his notifications tab lighting up, and you making him check it thinking its something important, only to be disappointed by a random 'gg' mail from a pub get him fired up.
and as dubbs said... careful who u talk to or much less look at, especially in pubs.
spreadsheet warriors don't forget many things, and should certain people ever show their face in MH, many will be marked before they ever set foot in a battle.

Cubs is mean, Espeon is actually a well spoken gentleman that has helped me carry my groceries and once stopped and helped me fix a flat tire.
He was a boy scout, and has proper manners and is even well educated and bilingual.

In PC-Matches, i mostly send a GL at the beginning, i just consider it as a nice gesture. If others think it's stupid, okay, but than don't hate me for trying to be nice. Same thing with the GG, after a tight game, i consider it nice and classy. Won't send it after a win often cause that sounds like laughing at the losers.
