a bit of trolling here, but hear me out... i bet i know what the FotM for 1.8 will be...
a proto (or any really) Cal heavy with 2X complex damage mods, kinetic catalyzer, and... dum dum dum...... 2 majestic (sp) SMGs... with almost as much damage as a duvalle, less cpu and pg requirements, high ROF, and the heavy's high ehp, one can almost make it as fast as a well armored assault suit without needing to add the armor or shields, but you still could.
sure, it would cost a ton of ISK, but if you got hundreds of millions of ISK to burn... not a problem.
the majestic in general will be FotM, but i figured the Cal heavy will be a nice addition for those who were really looking to **** everyone off .
just my opinion.
personally, i intend on keeping my assault suit and AR. until the nerfs and buffs stabilize... there's no point. |

I really do have a bad feeling about Cal heavies, as far as dropships are concerned. High/Fast regenning shields, another -25% to explosive damage, 4 highs for damage mods, and fitting forges. Basically bringing back pre-1.7 forges, which is not a good thing, they're perfectly balanced now, imo. I'm hoping for a nerf/change to damage mods, but we'll see.

Yep. FoTM Caldari sounds just about right.
CCP has yet to release anything made by the Caldari that wasn't OP as **** right off the bat.
Meanwhile Amarr and Gallente get the Nerf bat before they even get the chance. Why are they so careful with Amarr/Gallente weapons yet so careless with Caldari and Minmitar ones. |

I bet anyone 100m isk that right off the bat people are going to be calling heavies OP because their nerfed weapons with nerfed damage mods and nerfed proficiency skills aren't tearing through resisted 1200 HP in less than 2 seconds anymore.

This is what is making me nervous about flying. The depleted delay, in particular, means you better have that last missile ready when those shields go down, otherwise you might be screwed. Though, the Forge is only in a semi-good place against DSs, when a BPO LAV can withstand a proto forge, something is wrong.
The Cal Heavy has some very interesting builds available. My Sig Heavy and I were designing all the racial variants over the weekend, and the Cal Heavy is damn versatile, to say the least.
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...
So, other Logi's back off, those are my Warpoints!

Nerf to damage mods and flux nades means that this won't be the case. Caldari sent will be all but useless in CQC because of fluxes, but will find it's purpose as the true god class of the forge, and ultimate glass cannon.
If anything I think Amarr Sentinels will be the best sentinels. They're resistant to every type of damage but rail, and they can avoid that by staying in CQC and out of the open.

The fear? Caldari QQ will be so torrential, fluxs and gal-scouts get nerfed in response.

I can agree against dropships but it's certainly not balanced against tanks.

yeah I think Heavies might be OP this build especially if say the ENTIRE enemy team are heavies with rifles (AR, CR, RR, SCR)
