Never understood why people love it so much, it just seems so pointless. Big whoop, it pays you a cool ~2 mil ISK if you win, that still isn't all that impressive.
I actually find it pretty comical getting mail about PC and fight clubs and whatever other mess there is and then watching everyone virtually fumble over each other trying to get into the said PC or fight club match.
It's just all so..................pointless.

Some people not in PC think PC is some sort of magical land filled with dinosaurs and cucumbers but in reality, it's just a normal skirm with players that actually shoot back... or touch back

Because you never lose because some random is doing something stupid. You don't have to worry about the whole team pulling out a sniper rifle. PC has a lot of problems but what is has is organized team vs team matches. If you lose there is a reason for it, not just because matchmaking is terrible and SP disparity in pubs is so high.

I tried to PC once, I successfully landed from the MCC when I was lagged to hell and back. Still I wish I actually participated in one, even knowing it's a glorified Skir with FF. For what? A place stamped with your name on it , that's cool I guess. Then again there's rare salvage. |

I never really "got it". I see every one of those elitist wannabes in Pubs, not doing anything too impressive. Usually the ones that really think highly of themselves do little to actually win a match other than snaking around and getting easy, distanced kills on stray stragglers while their teammates get ****** up and lose.

Sure you get more salvage but I wouldn't call it rare. Its all stuff you can buy on the market. Actually I don't think you can even get "rare salvage" (ie officer's weapons) unless someone brings that gear into the match.
This and the large isk you get when you win still do nothing to compensate for the gamebreakingly bad lag, the constant use of the most exploitative tactics the game has to offer, and the general frustration of it.
I decided long ago to only get into PC's when I am really needed.

Granted I haven't played since 1.4 (I just can't bring myself to turn on my PS3 anymore) but back in 1.2-1.4, even with all of the glaring balance issues, having 16 people on comms playing as a team battle after battle, discussing strategies between fights and playing your absolute hardest purely to win and not to pad your k/d or to 'go profitable'... my god it was pure magic.
Some of my fondest gaming memories was after I joined TP and we dominated in PC. Pretty soon its the same players in the same corps, so you knew so many names and their play styles. It was a real sense of community and it was one of the few instances where I really had to try to play to my fullest potential. I haven't had pure team play like that since probably EQ1, it was downright amazing and in many ways I miss it.
I'm sure the game has changed a lot since 1.4 and it is probably quite different now though. PC was something magical early on though, back when corps were actually trying simply because it was new content.
I still remember the FEC vs EoN war as well, so many fond memories of that.
Organized team play with a persistent metagame, it is what could really set dust apart from games like CoD and BF4 imho.
Pubs could be fun sometimes too... but most pubs end up so one sided. It was always fun gunning down MLT noobs in full PRO going 30+/0 game after game, but after a while it got kind of stale... PC - when you had both teams actually trying was rarely stale. |

I just wish the squads that consistently proto stomp in 6+ man groups in pub matches would take their business elsewhere.... i.e PC where they will get competition. Thinking of plenty of names and corps now..... |

I've played a couple of PC, it's not so fun imo. When you look the map overview it's like a neon party, the entire map is filled with blue and red equipments. The only good thing is organization.

Aside from lag issues I've found PC pretty fun. But its not the be all end all it's cracked up to be, I had hoped the FW changes would be what we were looking for but I've even given up on that as well. I'm having more fun grinding for ISK in pubs, running BPOs for the lols. |

I haven't had much problems with lag... Only when a nyain san is brought in to attempt to steal the district from us.
The ferocity with which we (enemy inclusive) fight, the all-around competitiveness. In pubs you can't have your 1 squad defend 1 or hell even 2 objectives.", you gotta have a dedicated Lav guy, an ADS(if if's super huge i.e not rail rifle from redline to redline) your long range skirmisher, and then your 3-4 auxilleries which can consist of whatever.

FW is a joke.
A bunch of random blueberries, that maybe know what's going on (probably not), dickhead team killers, worthless payouts even at max standings, gear I can afford to buy normally, and no isk payout. Why not do skirmish?
Be my guest and play your heart out, FW is nothing compared to PC, just another PUB match is all.
In PC, it's all about the competition. It's the END GAME, the actual fun part after you reach proto level. It's the same as MC in WoW. It's not just yourself you are playing for, but the people next to you. You **** up, and they **** up. TEAM PLAY at it's finest. Can you even imagine getting 16 people together and organized? It's nothing like running a 6 man squad.
These are battles that are discussed and planned at least an hour before. When was the last time you actually cared for a FW this much? You know that every single person on the other side will be on your level, not lopsided like your typical pub or FW. This is where you show off your skill and knowledge.
PC is awesome, and it pisses a lot of people off. Yeah, it's pretty damn exclusive and only a small portion of the player base really know anything about it. It shouldn't be like that, sorry. And it certainly doesn't look like anything will get done with it soon. Maybe one day they will open it up, so that more and more can experience some true team play.
Don't hate the players, hate the game!
