So I've been thinking about the bonuses that Commando's and Assaults are getting, and seems like (and correct me if I'm wrong) the we have two suits directly completing with each other. Both of the suits are trying to get the most out of Light weapons, or more specifically, the Assault Rifles. I think that this is a mistake (assuming that I'm even correct in my assertion). I think that Assaults should focus on the Rifles, and that Commandos should focus on the Specialty Weapons (Shotguns, MD's, Laser Rifles, and whatever the **** the Caldari are going to get), and Light AV Weapons.
This way, I think, all bases should be covered. Sintenals will obviously focus on Heavy Weapons, Commandos will focus on Specialty/Light AV Weapons, Assaults will focus on Assault Riles. and Logistics will focus on Equipment. This leaves Scouts to focus on Sidearms, and now everyone has an Equipment/Weapon specialization that directly benefits their chosen role.
To be clear, the only Role I play is GalScout, so I am speaking from a high state of ignorance in regards to any other role in the game. That being said, what do you think? |

I agree, I was hoping all the rifles (except Amarr) would get nerfed and add appropriate Assault racial bonus buffs to counter them . This would make rifles on par with other weapons with every suit except the Assaults who would could make the most of what should be the most flexible weapons.
Where is my Gallente sidearm? 1.8? When is that? SoonGäó514

CommandoGÇÖs focus on weapon combinations. Using two weapons which compliment each other. Swarm Launcher with an Infantry Rifle. Shotgun, with a long ranged weapon. Mass Driver with a precision weapon.
Also, the generic term for AR/RR/CE/ScR is Infantry Rifle.

I agree in general, but since they're also the only suit that can run two Light Weapons, giving them bonuses to AV seems to make sense. Giving them bonuses to the specialty weapons ensures that we don't run into another class outperforming Assaults again.
Also, Infantry Rifle as a term has been noted. |
