For the other jacks of all trades who use every race, I decided to put together a list based on ranges for what race is best on what map/outpost If you're a JOAT you probably already know this, but what the hell. If 2 are listed, the first is more favorable, but it's close
Manus Peak: Caldari/Amarr Border Gulch: Minmatar/Gallente Ashland: Minmatar/Amarr Fracture Road: Minmatar/Amarr Impact Ridge: Amarr/Caldari Iron Delta: Amarr/Minmatar Line Harvest: Amarr Spine Crescent: Caldari/Amarr Skim Junction: Amarr/Caldari Gallente Research Facility: Minmatar Orbital Artillery: Gallente/Minmatar Biomass: Minmatar Communications: Minmatar/Amarr

Is this suit or weapon based? My preference is shotguns for complexes, ARs for areas Ike the bridge and RRs or sniper rifles for longer ranges.
Also it depends on the phase of the game, start scout, AR, dual uplink. Middle weapon to fit map/objective
Redlined sniper or MLT forge gun |

The suits are meant to compliment the weapons, you know.

It's a weird thing, actually. Amarr has both long-range and mid-range. For example, on Border Gulch, you can use mid-range lasers (Pulse Lasers, is what they're called) on almost any place here. Pulse Lasers consisting of Scrambler weaponry.
As for Caldari, using Border Gulch as an example again, they use plenty of mid-long range weaponry.
Honestly, there's not a lot of close-range places to work with in Border Gulch. Minmatar only works in the explosives category, because there are plenty of potential height advantages. Gallente (and any other CQC weapons) are only really useful if you can get the drop on someone OR if you're inside one of the complexes (At B, C, and E. Maybe D).

Shotguns are made by? Best suit is?
Nova knives are made by? Suit which gets the bonuses for it? |

Shotguns are made by gallente, and are best in the hands of a gallente assault or gallente scout who actually has the slightest clue as to what they're doing.

The longer the range of the weapon the slower you need to move or rotate for that matter.
Short range weapons effectiveness increase with both mobility and situational awareness.
I like using on my alt Vaine Hunter an assault rifle on a Gallente scout frame as there is a good overlap in effective weapon range and passive scan. On my main I prefer shotgun on my Minimatar scout as I can quickly run up to someone and go Boo(m), I use SMG as my sidearm to give some range, equipment is very Minimatar being REs.
Sniper rifles are best on Minimatar assaults if going for a high alpha damage with a good sidearm backup.
There are a lot of modules and weapons made by one faction that only another one gets bonuses or can wield. Case in point until racial parity is reached is that HMGs a Minimatar weapon can only be wielded by Amarr. |

As far as short range weapons go, mobility isn't terribly important, unless it's with knives. The scan radius on gallente scouts trumps the slight speed increase of minmatar scouts, as they allow you to win scout ring-around-the-rosey 90% of the time (I can see on the mini map which way my target is turning, so I always come up behind them).
Sniper rifles are one of those exceptions, as there are no racial variants quite yet. This guide was mainly made for the AR variants. Either way, I've never been a fan of assault snipers. I use scouts and commandos, and expect caldari commandos to be the best mid-range snipers next build.

I use scouts as my default so I do use a scout sniper. But if I have to counter snipe a heavy sniper it is either a sneaky git with a shotgun or as much damage as possible which for me is a advanced basic medium suit... I've invested only a little into suits and a lot into dropsuit upgrades. Only have sniper level 3 so most of the time its about ignoring the snipers and using cover as a well positioned heavy with a Thale or charge sniper rifle in the red zone is too much effort for too little impact on the game outcome.
Technically based on the loyalty point store sniper weapons are Caladari weapons. |
