I actually had a 360 when I first read about DUST 514. I watched the trailers and the fanfest that first announced DUST. I was beyond excited for this game; finally an FPS in tandem with EVE?!? I just couldn't believe it.
I quickly gathered up all of my 360 games and the console and traded it in at gamestop for a shiny new PS3. Rushed home and set it up to find out that I was invited into the DUST open beta!
Time passes
Here I am today still playing DUST...not as awesome as I had imagined, but it's playable *shrugs*
Anyone else get a PS3 just for DUST?

yeaps. traded in all my brownie points to get one for the start of open beta. (early birthday gift) though i do also play some other games normally from ps plus. |

This may be one of the saddest stories I have ever heard... Aside from upgrading from a 360 to PS3, but just for Dust?

But I remember seeing the trailer for the first time when I was getting into eve.
expecting this game to completely revolutionize shooters.
Having a computer and console game able to interact freely and the though of watching ps3 players fight from my ship or look up and see capsuleers fighting in space was staggering.
Wasn't meant to be I guess lol |

I own two ps3's now because I had to spend a month on a base Nevada. Forgot to pack mine. Got down there and had to go buy a new one just to be able to play in PC matches.
But, I was replacing a very old fat ps3 and my old one only had like. 40 gigs...new one is 250 I think. |

Logged into PS Store one day, saw a free game, gave it a DL.
Am still here, a year later.
Without a doubt my longest commitment to any game, let alone a shooter, ever.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

I would have liked to play DUST. Then it was announced for PS3. I said oh well, f*ck it.
Then I found out about Skylanders for my kids. I bought the PS3 with tax return money. I got the PS3 because I saw that it was a better choice overall than the others considering the complaints about the other consoles.
I said cool, maybe I can try out DUST too.
CCP should be kissing the feet of Activision and any other game company that has a popular title on PS3. Not many people would buy it for DUST.

I must not have been the only one expecting to run both EVE and DUST chars simultaneously for some coordinated planetary attacks.

Well...Sh*t.
