I have always thought the red line was a bit dull. it's easy to exploit for both sides and just seems a bit foolish. So as I sat thinking today about epic crap this game needs. I mentally stumbled into this whole idea. Enjoy!
How about the game starts as is. A red line and stationary mcc's. Although there may be no need for the red line. Everyone does the whole normal thing. You know spawns in runs toward an objective, call in vehicles, spins around or shoots other blues like a dumbass. Sorry I just had to say that.
Anyways so once the first null cannon is taken. The red line disappears and the mcc's start moving. Perhaps at first around the outside of the map. Eventually they will be flying over the interior of the map too. They would more or less be trying to get more fire power to bare on the other mcc while limiting the area on themselves. Now I'm not talking about them flying at fast speeds. They are after all flippen huge compared to anything on the ground.
I figure this would involve both height increases and decreases. probably within a threshold of 10 to 25 meters from center mass. And of course the AI (or person perhaps?) would have to adjust course for towers, buildings, and so on.
All the while mercs are spawning in and jumping out. If you decide that jumping out is not your thing. Don't worry just stand there. And within one or perhaps two minutes (at most) of the crazy robot announcer lady yelling at you to basically do your Damn job. You will be falling to your death. And no it won't matter if your walking, spinning, jumping, or humping the wall either. I think that would remove the need for a red line and remove afk in the mcc.
Now being the logical bunch we are here on the forums . A lot of you realise that this should mean some of the shots from the mcc and null cannons would miss. Well there goes the whole predictable damage thing right? Not exactly now read on.
To keep it a bit more simple null cannons don't miss. But the shots may contact sooner or later. This depends on where the target is in relation to it's position. On the other hand at least some shots from the mcc's themselves should miss. Personally that would be fine with me. Having at least a few unpredictable results in a match would be good. But we want MORE EPICNESS!! At least I do so read on.
Right, so we got less damage going to the mcc's. And the mcc's themselves are no longer just two unmoving spawn platforms. Hanging in the air like deformed... Christmas ornaments .Now they are two spawning and fighting platforms. That are cool to watch but still not doing much.
What about the ground guys having more fun? Well how about actually being able to hurt that big slow moving annoyance. Get back at it for blocking your sun or the lovely view of the sky. Seriously what's up with those guys just standing around!?
Tanks, turrets, dropships, forge guns, and so on. Basically anything that can do large damage can hurt the enemy mcc. But the damage has to be severely scaled down. I would put it at 15% to 10% or less of actual damage. If your weapon can't do at least 10 damage after the decrease. YOU DON'T DO DAMAGE.
There are two reasons I put this in, besides it being more epic. For one it makes up for some of those missed mcc shots. For another it will be an irresistible distraction to all those vehicles and forge guns. Nothing better than a tank/fg NOT targeting you or your team. I know it may be possible that enough firepower could unbalance things. Got something for this too. What? Of course it's epic now read on.
Oh those poor flying bahemoths. What with all those little metal gnats, ants, and such stinging them. All while they fight for their lives.(too much?). Worry not the mcc has big ass guns too.
At the early stages of the fight the mcc will probably (95% chance?) ignore damage from ground targets. But as the total damage adds up, and the battle goes on the chances it will not fire on a Target go down. I'm not really sure what it is they fire or how much damage it does though. But it has to be a very large amount of damage. I would think it has splash damage too. That should make things a bit more even as far as mcc damage.
Okay my finger is getting tired from typing on this tiny on screen keyboard. Feel free to shoot me down or add to this as you want. And as always...
HAVE A NICE DAY!!
I am nobody.
