I've thought of this over and over. I tried scrambler pistols but their biggest draw backs is either they'er slow ROF or I have to get in close to maximize my effectiveness. So then I tried the Scr but then my finger got a bit to happy, it worked wonderful at range but as I got closer I became the "easiest pick'n" I know this could be easily countered by using a smg but then that'd go against my pure Amarr philosophy that I planed for 1.8. So from me to you should I use:
A: Scrambler Rifle
or
B: Scrambler Pistol

Personally I'm going full on Amarr scout and will likely go with the aSCR.
Another choice I'm likely to go with is the AR since I'll be using the Amarr scout's lower profile to infiltrate into squads and the AR is good CQC.

Depends on how lasers will be post-buff.
You can never really go wrong with a scrambler pistol, either way.

Both.
Scrambler rifle for range, scrambler pistol for cqc. Scrambler pistols will burst down everything but an armor stacked suit faster than any other weapon if your aim is decent.

I would LOVE to use the scrambler with the scout but 11 PG at standard for PG is probably WAY too much for the suit.
I will definitely use scrambler pistols with it though.
Cloak -> sneak up on enemy -> double tap in the back of the head
While there is no better place to be wealthy than the Gallente Federation, there is no hell worse for the poor either.

Haha, "everything but an armor stacked suit". So, no one, at least with current metagame (which, in terms of armor stacking, probably won't change in 1.8). |

Dude I dunno what you talking bout with rof the scp will drop anybody from a flank especially with proficiency. Plus people are scared of it, they know your just a headshot away, also I can clip a dude in the face from 60 m if he's still.

I meant heavies. Particularly just heavies. Proto gal logis still fold in a clip from an adv scrambler pistol.

Awesome way to go.
Though I must say the versatility of the Scrambler Rifle is pretty awesome for scouting. Urban Sniping, 1v1 ranged fights. High damage when needed, rapid fire when needed. I would say couple it with the pistol and it's a win.

it's really on what you use the best i am a minmitar so i really dont care about amarr tech but minmitar doctorine states that we use whatever to get the job done, so i like the laser rifle even at its obvious lack of ability at the moment. and on a scout i use ut with my scr pistol so if i cant zap you from afar i will make my way to you then pew pew head shot its a situational fit but i love to melt people.

I use Both in my Profile dampened A.Assaults :|
The SCR pistol is a fascinating weapon.
Higher Base damage than the SCR RIFLE (i dont use dam mods for my SCR RIFLE) and the higher the tier, the higher the damage AND the Rate of fire too!
Usually, in CQ, I use the SCR RIFLE CHARGED SHOT, SWITCH WEAPON, and unload the SCR PISTOL (since it DOES more damage per shot, and it wont overheat, bigger headshot bonus....)

By slow ROF i meant more specifically the breach version.

I run a heavy with two carthums........and its actually pretty boss until you run out ta ammo

so your complaint with the Sc Pistol is that it's too close range? If you really wanna be a scout than nothing I am about to say will change your mind and that is good. the scout plays medium short range really well and medium long weapons like the LR and ScR wont synergize well with the suit. the aScR is a better choice but not by much. the amarr don't really have a good medium short option so a traditional scout in an amarr suit/weapon config wont play well.
if you are gonna do this you're gonna need to invent your own playstyle probably using the amarr scout as a micro assault. in which case, good luck picking cause I don't run a micro assault and though I wouldn't have trouble building one I wouldn't know how to use it.
