While I'm not against DUST University in any way, and I am actually supportive of their effort towards teaching new players in DUST 514, I'll point out that the Learning Coalition is just as healthy and just as viable as a teaching corporation, or rather group of corporations. We offer active players that are constantly running squads, plenty of helpful instructors, and even more friendly students. Our founders are almost always online and happy to help with anything you need, and the diversity of the Coalition allows for almost every question for every role can be answered.
Again, I've nothing against D-Uni, and I don't wish to hijack a thread dedicated to said corporation, but while asking around the Learning Coalition, more than a couple of our students (former D-Uni students), have told us that the D-Uni corporation chat is filled with "RFX" or "LFS", and almost no actual questions are asked/answered. I wouldn't trust my word 100% though, as I, myself, have never joined D-Uni, and therefore I don't know the status of the corporation or it's dedicated chat channels.
More info on the Coalition: -Made up of multiple corps. Immortal Guides, and Learning Coalition College specifically. Immortal Guides will teach you the basics (and the CEO, Fox Gaden, has written plenty of helpful guides, that he emails to the corp daily), and once we get it fully set up, LCC will help you find a specialization to work in, and the needed knowledge and skill required to fill said role.
-Founders almost always online. I'm a 100% active player, and I'm online for multiple hours of the day. You can find me (Artificer Ghost), or my EVE alt (Xavier Soraine) online ranging from 12PM EST to 1AM EST. I have no job. There's also Fox Gaden (and his EVE alt, Renier Gaden), along with Charlotte O'Dell, who isn't as much a teacher as he is a business partner. Although Charlotte is one of the best, if not THE best tanker in the game, and is happy to share his knowledge.
-Plenty of active and helpful players, capable of answering any question you could have.
I'm not saying that the Learning Coalition or any of it's corporations are better than D-Uni, as I have not attended D-Uni myself, but I will put it here that the Learning Coalition is an ALTERNATIVE to D-Uni. A choice, not a requirement.
~Art, CEO and DoE at Learning Coalition College, Co-Founder of the Learning Coalition
