Yea I dont know why CCP dont give everything efficiency curves like the laser rifle has.
The AR could melt face up close, the CR smashes face at close/mid range, the scrambler at mid/long range and the RR and longer ranges.
Outside of their optimal ranges they would be less efficient. However I hear that CCP are changing a lot of the rifles and weapons for 1.8 anyway. I seriously HOPE it will actually BALANCE things and not just nerf things into the ground for no apparent reason.
We dont need more flaylock and laser rifle type nerfs. |

We dont need more flaylock and laser rifle type nerfs. Do you know the worst part about the laser rifle nerf?
It wasn't even that strong of a nerf. The weapon wasn't even that OP, it was mostly the sharpshooter skill that made it OP because it benefitted from sharpshooter more than the other weapons.
It used to do 15/15/20 damage. Now it does 17/17/17 damage. They just kind of averaged the damage and gave it a horrid ironsight. That's it. Even if they left it the way it was, it would still be underpowered. Stupidest nerf ever...

The heat buildup was also nerfed.

No to curves like the laser rifle. You're joking right? Most games balance weapons based of ROF, dispersion, reload speed, DPS, recoil, and damage model.
Dust just prefers not to deal with any sort of dispersion or recoil. Two very important things in terms of balance.
You give guns that are supposed to be long range weapons terrible hipfire accuracy like any other weapon in any other game and people won't use them in CQC/outside of their intended range.

True say. I am just dubious about how CCP would go about these kind of things. Though I agree with your statement. I guess lets see how CCP goes about 1.8 hey. |
