In competitive play ive noticed a place where the flaylock pistol truly shines
Anti-uplink
as we all know uplink spammage is is HUGE in competitive play and taking an objective and holding it is nearly impossable without first decimating the local uplink population. and there are a few things that really shine in that department.
shotguns on scouts doing uplink clearing runs
flux granades (max of 3 really limits the amount of anti-uplink capabilities of this however)
flaylock pistols
in a situation where you are assaulting a VERY uplink heavy objective with the objective to take and hold it an assault suit with fluxes and a flaylock pistol is unmatched int he ability to clear out the objective without exposing yourself by shooting at the uplinks with your primary weapon.
flaylocks... they are still relevent |

Finishing people is good for it too if you handle it right. There are still a few good Flaylock users out there. It's a weapon for skilled hands so maybe it's ok the way it is.
I just found a youtube channel of a guy who's really good with it. Search "Gaming Freek". |

Do you know what works better as an anti uplink device?
Flux Grenades. That way you don't have to give up your ScR/SMG.

Still use um, but what's the point of an explosive weapon with no radius?

The flaylock pistol would be my goto sidearm if it weren't for the fact that it's pretty gimped. For someone who likes to stick to cover like it's a warm bosom, having to pop my head out for only half a second to get a shot or two off would be fantastic. Only in dreams friend, only in dreams. |
