Not within the redline, that is. I've lost 4 outside the redline in the last 30 or so matches.
The scope and kick make tracking targets at 150 to 300m extremely difficult. The only way I found to alleviate this problem is by changing my sensitivity settings to 100, but even then, I still have trouble. |

Thale's sniper rifle is the most broken weapon in the game, because it's currently only used well if you exploit it.
Therefore, don't use it, especially not in your redline.
If anything, use it near the enemy redline because all the redline thale perches are getting old- I know just where to look when one pops up in my killfeed. They may be powerful, but the suits behind them are destroyed just as easily as any other, be it by sniper rifle, railgun, or assault dropship.

If you are losing thales you need to train Red Line ***** Level V. Most snipers have that trained and they stay nice in safe while padding their K/D.

Like any other Sniper Rifle.
You spec into it, crouch, find stationary targets, quickly aim (if you can get the head the better), and shoot.
For moving targets, don't follow (track and shoot) use the Lead and shoot; anticipate where your target is headed, place reticle ahead of target and shoot.
and finally, if you kill a target, don't campGǪ Shoot, Kill, Shout expletive (optional), Relocate.

If anyone sees you using a thale, you become the target with top priority.
I was sniping from like the middle of the map on a mountain and a scout got me last second before the match ended.
Sniped in redline another time and took a shot so I ran away in my tanked logi.
There is no way I'm coming out of the redline with my thale (even though I don't have any anymore).
Now, I do better with the Kaal and there seems to be less of a priority to kill me so I don't really worry about being killed. Got around 30 something kills with it some days ago. Other time I only got 20-something :/ |

Not necessary. Only relocate if you can't kill your target in one hit and he knows where you are OR if you killed 5-10 guys consecutively. |
