Is there anything worth buying with real money in dust 514 at this point? Just curious I am a new player and enjoy this game. |

Yea, the boosters. If not that, if there's a suit you want to try out. Say you're advanced something and want to try a proto version of the suit, you can get one of those and see how it will be for you. Other than that, AUR is in the account for boosters.

The rate is 2000AUR : 1USD. Larger AUR packs give you more bonus AUR, raising the AUR : USD rate. Try to buy the larger packs. If you'd buy a 40kAUR pack for 20USD once a month, save for 2 and a half months instead and get a 100kAUR pack for 50USD, or save longer to get a 200kAUR pack for 100USD. Also try to only buy AUR with a promotion like a sale, or bundled with Omega boosters. Something like that.
A 30 Day Booster is 14,000AUR. That's about 7USD/mo. Shorter duration boosters are more expensive, so only buy 30 Day Passive boosters, period. Only buy 7 or 30 Day Active Boosters. With those lengths for the active boosters you can plug them in and start playing on Friday or Saturday, cap out, and still have some booster left for next weeks cap. (Bonus SP from active boosters DOES NOT come out of your active SP weekly cap.)
Note: I seem to recall that 30 Day Active/Passive Boosters are normally 28kAUR, but seem to be 14kAUR in the market. I'm not sure if this is their new price or if that's a sale price.)
Watch for things on extreme sale. The 'Tactical Edition' is normally 20USD and a once per account purchase, but a month or so ago it was on sale for 5USD. Its contents made it worth it and that price.

I like Dust. I have faith in it....
So rather than buy regular Viziam ScR with ISK. I use Aurum to buy "Bloodgrail" ScR.

Boosters if you really think you need them.
Unlocking stuff early with AUR weapons/mods/suits is meh, in my opinion. Except maybe Commando suits at the moment.
You could unlock these things in factional warfare, though, so only for the boosters if you really feel the need to buy them and like this game enough.
I've never bought AUR and I do pretty well. |
