No I won't run around in starter fits so stop asking.
As some of you may know, I've recently had a change of playstyle in the sense that I try as best I can be bothered to, to stay in small groups, 2 or 3 to lessen the burden of the huge stomped masses.
So I had an epiffany moment just now. How about I use those leftover 3-4 emty spots and fill up the squad with players that are tired of always being put on the poor team that normally gets stomped by 12 dudes in full proto gear.
So I've made a chat channel called "Babar is a saint", which is open for anyone to join. When I start to play I'll check in on that channel and pick up 2-4 dudes dependant on the general situation. From that channel its also easy to message me and I'll do my best to get you in squad.
This way you'll have some hard core experienced players on your squad to help you out, cover your ass and generally give a few pointers in how to improve your game. I can offer:
- A friendly and relaxed environment, though we are quite competitive and expect you to give it your best. - The sharing of our experience. - Tips on fittings, weapons and basically everything. - You can learn how to communicate better and move as a co-ordinated unit. - And perhaps we can even help improve your gungame?
The things I won't accept is: - People without mics. - People that want to redline snipe, camp on rooftops etc. We play the objectives and we play to win.
I'm mostly on during EU primetime and play late AKA US primetime often on fridays and saturdays when I'm not out rambling. I'll link this thread on our corp forums and see if more of us are interrested in doing this.
So join up today, I welcome anyone in need of a helping hand.
OR
Just don't use proto in pubgames
Stomping isn't the sole issue, you will stomp in ADV/Basic it's when your up against an entire team of randoms in starter corps in STD gear and you run proto suit/mods/weapons and even in a squad of 3 it makes no difference as your still protostomping new players
It's laughable that you think only 3 people protostomping instead of 6 makes you a saint
Don't be fooled people being in a squad with them watching them kill people in STD/Militia gear in their proto and giving them a false sense of self gratification that they are somehow helping the community isn't worth it
Continue red line sniping or AFKing in the MCC against them as I said long ago the only thing that will affect them is no1 on the enemy team turnign up to be killed ... it soon gets boring running around with no1 to kill and is why he has started trying to do things to get people to actually play with and against him
I've told you time and time again put down your proto and fight in ADV/STD in pub games and you;ll have a real fight on your hands .. continue using proto and players will simply not bother padding your stats |

So you can farm even more ISK to protostomp new players even harder in pubgames ? xD

"Babar is a saint" is obviously a silly name meant as a joke. I will keep it cause if a player can't get over a name like that, a trivial matter, then there's a lack of dedication IMO.
About the proto vs anhanced suits. The fundamental LOLsy ugliness of the truth is that there really isn't that much of a difference in performance between my 230 K suit and my 35 K suit. Then you guys say "if there isn't any difference then why not use the cheap suit?" and I'll say "There really isn't that much difference so I'll just stick with my protosuit cause I have more toys on it and I can better support my teammates with those toys", and the circle is complete.
And I can flip it around and complain about fattys with rail rifle, with twice my HP and the same offensive capabilities shouldn't I in theory be just as mad about those people that you seem to be with me? Its more or less the same scenario.
But granted, I'll test buy some enhanced assault suits and play with those for awhile, I'm not prepared to downgrade my logi suit and lose those fancy toys though, fancy toys is the reasn I specced into logi to begin with.
And for the record, a suit cost of 35 115 isk, is that low enough for you or should I go even further down?
No it isn't .. Heavys have 2 weapons FG and HMG ... they may gain range with the RR but they sacrifice speed, equipment, don't have high slots to stack 3x complex damage mods and have a bigger hitbox as well as a higher scan profile .. I don't particularly like heavys with light weapons but it's nowhere near being on the same level as you protostomping pubgames for months on end , compare a starter fit to your 200k fit and then compare a STD heavy to your proto suit and you'll understand ..
PS i severely doubt that you'll be running in that suit with 2 other people not in proto, why not request your corp only use ADV gear in pubgames for a week ? That'd be a start |

And for the record: I actually dropped squad at the end of that battle telling everyone that 6 of us is way too many, the games just gets boring, well not the first half of it!
Im not sure if that is true, you see I actually felt a little selfish/guilty in the second half of that match. My first spawn was my uplink fit, but not realising there was a fustercluck brewing, I got trapped at bravo with my lil ScP and SMG against your proto squad. I respawned in my usual Shotty/RE fit because I got a hard on for proto tears (had to change to a modified stealth fit once I realised there were proto scanners about). Once you finally took Bravo I made one vain attempt to drain proto tears - but if I was thinking of my team, I shoulda taken the opportunity to place uplinks to keep up the fight. Instead Delta was captured by the blues and everyone waited it out in relative safety. Understandable though - protostomping is something I'm conflicted about. I love the challenge, but I've got decent SP behind me now. I don't think I could go though those early growing pains again. But truly, the real issue is the fact all new players can do is find a way and a will to survive at the beginning, like they are Spartan babies. I'm a fan of CCP, but I look to them to fix the situation really, not guys like yourselves - we're all just players in their world afterall, I can't hate on you for protostomping, anymore than I myself for choosing to go for proto kills (specifically you at this point lol) instead of supporting my team...
It's not just CCP's fault, yes they made the awful matchmaking system we have now but it's people like Babar who see the wounded matchmaking and start pouring salt into the wound and making it worse .. sure You can't expect the players to fix it but they could at least try not to make the problem worse

Why can't more people be like you? You display talent, a willingness to adapt and have a great fighting spirit. Why didn't you pick up a sniper and stayed the rest of the game in the redline? And thank you for proving my point to a degree, do you play like this becaue you are skilled or have you gotten this skilled by playing that way over some period of time?
Explanation highlighted
You can't expect players just out of the academy or within the 1st month of playing to do this and your basically reaffirming my point that you just want new players to stomp |

That'd be a start I've run that suit solo in many games, I have to "gimp myself" from time to time to reassure that I have some skill and are not merely dependant on fancy gear. (Seriously I've been doing this for many months now, ptobably because of all the belitteling comments I've got on these forums.) I don't make these kinds of requests to my players, they can do whatever they want short of glitching and cheating. Well, faceing a fatty in a corridor with a Duvolle and 2 damage mods should take down my suit quite easily IMO. The point is, you don't hear me complaining about it.Anyways, I'm tired good thread and QQ people, I've had a blast.
So you broke your arm and are complaining about it .. well I stubbed my toe and didn't complain about it so HTFU
So you don't like protostomping and complain about it .. well I don't like facing heavy suits in a corridor with an AR (although a HMG in a corridor with damage mods would be an awful lot worse so it's a pretty wierd analogy) and don't complain about it so HTFU
Do ya see what I'm getting at yet ???? |

That's becuase good players don't fight battles they can't win. If you try to face an eHP tank in a small hallway you deserve that death, and you shouldn't be QQing about it anyways. I hate seeing people QQ about losing fights THEY SHOULDN'T BE WINNING in the first place. I don't complain when my scout gets melted by a gal-logi. I shouldn't be fighting that thing head on anyways. If I see a heavy in a hallway, I run away. Circle back, and then stab him in the back. I live for the hunt. EDIT: Added some stuff.
This sentiment exactly .. it's why when Babar complains about new players not fighting him head on in his full proto gear with a few other guys in proto gear I take such an exception to it
For months new players have been told to just leave matches if they see guys who always run full proto in a squad with some other people in proto and now that new players are heeding this advice and avoiding fighting him he doesn't like it
