As it stands now a standard level Caldari and Amarr logistic suit only has 2 equipment slots. A standard level scout in 1.8 will also start with 2 equipment slots. This seems a bit odd to me. Wondering if there was anything in the pipeline that might hint at this being changed for 1.8 so that standard level logistics start with 3 equipment slots instead of 2 to maintain their role across tiers. |

it is subject to change.
However will it be changed, is the real question.

Not as of yet. I guess CCP has stated somewhere that 1.8 will be out early to mid march.
Everyone in the community on the forums are now in giant discussions on how to properly balance all of the game, and pointing out all of the current flaws, instead of just a multitude of rage "Nerf this, buff that" threads, rumors, and speculations. CCP also stated that the purposed changes were "Subject to change" <--- This is what I think is causing so many actual discussions vs rage posts.
I think that CCP is just sitting on the build, reading what the community wants, and will be able to make a better informed decision as to how suit layout, EHP, damage, slot layout, and clearly defined roles should be applied. Who knows? What we end up with could actually be a fairly balanced game. That's all we can hope for.
CCP has their vision of what they want DUST to be, but ultimately in an ever evolving game like this, mass majority seems to have the best chance to actually balance things because were the ones "testing" day in and day out. Finding ways to break the system so that issues can be addressed.

The gallogi should be 3 high/4 low, the extra slot is bullshit, they already have passive HP regen, which in reality at level counts as having a 6th slot also. Giving them only 4 would still give them the defensive edge versus the assault variants.

That's kind of a totally different issue all together and is probably deserving of its own discussion thread. |

The other thing to consider too is that all logis will likely have a 5% per level reduction to equipment (except cloaks) CPU/PG. So despite having only 2 slots they can still fit better things in it. |

I would like for the Caldari Logi to have 4-3 for their slots, while having their old CPU, or at least normal CPU levels. The CPU is crap for a basic/advanced caldari logi.

I think that the Caldari Logi should have 3 on its standard level. Not so much the Aamar because doesn't it get a side arm even at standard level? (Don't have the game in front of me right now) The Aamar logi suit was made to kind of bridge the gap between assault and logistics wasn't it? Didn't work out very well, but I'm pretty sure that was the idea in theory.

The equipment slot set up for the Caldari and the Amarr is identical across tiers. 2/3/3 from Std/Adv/Pro. I was pondering the implications of the std level scout having the same equipment slot number as half the std level logistics and whether that has ramifications on their desired role on the battlefield. |

To be honest the equipment slots should remain untouched. Simply cause a logi needs to carry tons of equipment to assist his team. After all we still have quite a big pool of selectable items to pick. Which are the following: -nanite injectors -Repair tools -Active scanners -Nanohives -Remote explosives -Drop uplinks -Proximity mines
Ive picked the gallente logi back then when every 1 was running the caldari logi (op as hell before nerf) due to equipment slots and the bonus in fitting for it. Anything below 4 equipment slots is for me not a consideration anymore.

You get a plus +1 for being armored when armor was garbage, and also for being a Logi.
I try to use my advanced Gallogi as much as possible, but missing that fourth piece of equipment is really killer.

Despite the fact you didn't actually address my point I think you're saying that you'd think the std level equipment slots for Amarr and Caldari logistic suits should be brought up to par with the rest of the suits. Or maybe I'm just deluding myself that anyone will actually address the point of this thread instead of talking about module slots or something completely off topic. |

I think you are getting a round about answer. though not to your question. In the absence of hard facts, speculation will suffice.

It'll have to. He seems in favor of not lowering equipment slots, which I'll take as a vote for 'more slots are better' despite the fact he opened with "To be honest the equipment slots should remain untouched." |

But due to constant nagging about "slayer logis" CPU/PG are supposedly getting reduced, and logis are getting an eq CPU/PG reduction bonus to "make up for it".

So basically logis are losing cpu/pg from what we know
Edit to answer the OPs question
I refuse to use any basic logi at the moment. Just not enough slots, especially on the gallente. The adv gallente is really hard for me to use anymore since i specced into amarr logi. Amarr has the same slot count at adv as gal, but with a sidearm. |

It's not that people haven't been asking about it (here, here).
We haven't received anything official on the potential bonuses from Sisi (the ones they eventually released for the other suits were different, e.g. - cloak bonuses on the scouts were dropped for example). We also haven't received any mention of changes in suit stats.
You can see that they've changed the racial balance philosophy on suits though. All the new suits have equal slot totals (Amarr isn't one down), the Amarr has shifted from "dual-tanker" to armor tanker, and the Gallente picked up passive reps.
Interestingly, most of our feedback on the suits like commandos, scouts, and sentinels has been partially predicated on the existing suit stats. However, while we made comparisons of how X new suit would measure up against an existing Gal-logi or Minmatar Assault... people were taking their old stats for granted. Fitting, slots, hp, bonuses... everything changed on some of the old suits. It's entirely possible that all the medium suits will see changes across the board in slot layouts, fitting, and so on as well.
Until they actually release the details, we can only speculate. I'd assume that all the bonuses are changing at minimum though (it's just a matter of 'to what'), and slot equalization on tanking-focus shift on the Amarr would lead me to believe that will probably shift as well.
Edit: Not that lack of knowledge has kept people from commenting/suggesting, there were several threads about the Sisi bonuses despite no actual info released from CCP (like the wisdom of the slowest logi having a droplink bonus, etc.).
Dren and Templar equipment stats, wrong since release.

Equipment CPU/PG costs are staying the same, they have already released what the new equipment is supposed to look like and fitting cost hasn't changed. 1.8 will be an indirect nerf the the Gallente logi though, it already has a 25% reduction to equipment fitting cost so really it's just losing CPU/PG.
I have run a Gallente Logi since Uprising hit and have done very well with my ADV suit. Cheap enough to not worry about cost but effective enough that it still gets the job done, not as well as proto but such is the nature of things. |
