So, there are only two heavy weapons at the moment. Me and a corp mate were talking last night about what kind of heavy weapons might be on the way in the future. Of course a heavy laser was brought up. Heavy scrambler as well. Maybe a mobile blaster turret like gun? A missile launcher? Being a heavy should you be able to carry small turrets, just take a lot of power? An av grenade mass driver? Wait, thats a light weapon. Lol. What are the communities thoughts and would like to see in the future? |

CCP Logibro revealed the names of the missing racial heavy weapons. As you know, the Caldari has the forge gun, the Minmatar has the HMG. According to CCP Logibro, the Amarr heavy weapon is the scrambler lance, and the Gallente heavy weapon is the plasma mortar.
This is complete total speculation, but I would guess the scrambler lance will be somewhere between the forge gun and the scrambler rifle; very high damage, high range, low rate of fire, semi-automatic, and each shot will have a massive light trail that looks like a lance stabbing through whatever it hits.

Then why is there a scrmbler rifle and a laser rifle? I know their both laser weapons. But a heavy steady beamed laser is what we were saying. |

I am hoping for a balance between Charged and uncharged fire. Where the uncharged shots have faster RoF, lesser damage, but say better Anti Infantry Capacity...but significantly less range....and the overheat.

Indeed, they could do it the same way as the light weapon SR. Assault version being auto fire, and regular being a single/charged shot. |

Not necessarily. If you're unfamiliar with EVE, Energy Turrets (Lasers) come in two varieties; Pulse Lasers and Beam Lasers. Pulses are higher RoF, lower alpha, faster tracking, shorter range. Beams are the opposite.
Right now I see the Scrambler Rifle filling the Pulse category, and the Laser Rifle filling the Beam category. Heavy weapons should maintain that pattern established by EVE.
Going on the proposed name alone, I would say the Scrambler Lance should fill the Pulse category for Amarr Heavy weapons.

well if you guys are done speculating I have some stats on a post about some new heavy weapons that I had ideas about that if you want to can check out and give me feedback on just look up "Scrambler Cannons!"

I wonder if the "plasma mortar," if that's really what it'll be called, will truly be a mortar and not a howitzer or another low-angle firing weapon.
