Personally, I do not understand why these boosters are not on the market full time...
I have brought some fresh blood to Dust (ex CS and BF3 players) and it kinda irks me that I will have to wait 2-3 months of straight grinding before it is even possible to participate in PC. These players are more than willing to buy omegas.
Honestly, what is the deal?

You can't have 2 types of boosters available at all times. Too many people will complain about pay to win at that point. |

I'm sure I remember seeing 30, 60 and 90 day variants in the item description box . I'd love Omegas 24/7.

Because supply and demand? Ccp can artificially reduce supply so when omegas go on the market people actually buy them because they don't want to miss out. It's obvious, use your head. |

No competitive corp is going to let you into a PC match without at least one full proto fit with your upgrades maxed or near maxed.
I think boosters in general are silly though, but they're not going anywhere fast.

Yeah, but its not necessarily about you. Its about the peon with 2mil SP who plays this game for free and whose only chance to "git gud" is to pay money to level faster.
I'm on your side in this argument, If you have a game based on microtransactions, then sell baby sell. But the silent majority out there that doesn't spend money on this game would cry foul that we have an unfair advantage because we chose to spend money on boosters instead of grinding it out the slow way. |

So get your prototype dropsuit and weapon of choice (the only things people see) and get the rest at the pace you are comfortable with. Tell them whatever they need to hear to let you into the PC match.

with Passive and Active Boosters
Proto Suit = 1 month ish
Proto Weapon = Week and half ish
Furthermore, if you're in role like slaying, and you're going double negative, I will bench them.

I'd be happy with this. Would like to finally break 10 million.

I have a guy in my corp with less than 3mil SP in my corp that does extremely well for himself in a STD/ADV fitting. Having full prototype is not an I win button, it just gives you an edge. Working well with your squad and good squad composition win every day.

I agree that SP isn't everything, but SP differences tend to be compounded rather than alleviated by the high quality of overall play that you tend to see in top level PC matches. Assuming equal levels of playing skill, even relatively small differences in stats due to SP will have large effects, partly because life/death are discreet/binary. The higher SP side will win the majority of early engagements, the logis will rep and reload everyone, the heavys will get into good defensive positions, the higher SP side will have more uplinks and better placement due to winning early engagements/getting there faster/killing faster/having better equipment and the lower SP side will find itself in increasingly disadvantaged situations. I liken it to models of biological fitness where very small differences in fitness can produce profound results with regard to population outcomes. All of this without even considering the flexibility provided by higher SP or how higher SP players tend to aggregate in a small number of corps. I'm not sure a great player with 3mil SP can consistently win 1v1 against a very good player with 20mil+. I'd wouldn't have a problem with omegas being available full time as it would give the dedicated new player (who has a bit of money to spend) a way be competitive faster. I'd buy and run them all the time just so I could try out some new suits.
