Can't be a CQC fighter if people see you before you can get close with your slow ass armor suit.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

i dont mind if someone has me on the radar, but i think i should see the person that scans me as well, because I KNOW that he scanned me. i'm not even talking about the EXACT position...the direction would be nice.
its like.. oh.. i'm in a base and someone scanned me.. could come from the front (because i just got in range) or behind (scout following me) or someone somewhere else that just spawned...
yes, i understand that you lose a slot for your lil tool, but beeing forced to drop a lot of HP because SOMEONE COULD have a scanner is a lil bit to much

I say things like "punk, needed a scanner-I'm standing right here dammit..anybody can see me"
but when I spawn IN the MCC and I see "you've been scanned" I'm like WTF, really..?..fuc k...
my Alt is "Shinobi Shann"...starting Feb 10th...or whenever CCP gives up the Scout Suits...

The current scanner spam could be made tolerable by providing "feedback" on the scanner, highlighting them on enemy radar. This would also reveal the general location of the squad, if the scanner is with one.
However, in 1.8 scanners are changing to take "snapshot" scans within its cone of vision and have longer cool-downs. This eliminates 360 scanning and makes them much more situational and tactical. Scanning an objective before a push because you need to, instead of dancing in circles every 10 seconds to eliminate any surprises.
I believe the spam will drop once the change happens and scanners are no longer an all seeing eye. I will still be using them, as a LogiBro a well timed scan could save my squad or turn the tide at an objective. |

I say "I don't give a crap" I just assume I am always being scanned, better to just never let your guard down. Stopped using scanners myself soon as the scout info came out, reliance on them is just going to get you killed.

Always thought it was funny that it didn't work that way in the first place
One of the disadvantages of "active" detection equipment is that enemies using similar equipment will notice you doing it very easily, which can have consequences
The "you have been scanned" notification makes sense, but it should also be easy for the suit electronics to tell what general direction all that radiation is coming from, if not precisely pinpoint its origin |

yes you can...if you see them first with your own scanners, or you can take the rarely used option of remotes. |
