Put my SP into the first level of the Minmatar Logi. Is there any way I can improve this fitting?
2 Highs: Militia Light Damage Modifier, Militia Shield Extender
LW: Militia AR
Loucs Grenades
Eq. Slots: Repper, Nanohives, Injectors (Uplinks here on the copy of this suit)
2 Low Slots: Militia Armor Plates (2)
Know all of this is Militia gear. Going to put standard in when I feel I can properly fund it. Dying in the double digits each match tends to hurt the wallet haha.
I would rather die my way than live by yours.

There really isn't much point in the damage mod, if I were you I'd just put on two shield extenders instead.
Also you might want to consider uplinks instead of nanohives as they tend to be more useful. Both are decent however.
Also, just get the standard AR over militia, the cost is negligible and the benefit of having a greater magazine is quite a big one.

The biggest tip I would give you is, level everything you use regularly to lvl 1 to reduce PG/CPU costs. Once you've figured out your loadout, level equipment to adv., then your defensive modules (armor may be the better option HP wise, but I tend to go for speed), your weapon and suit last. You will need to level up CPU at some point here, do it only when you have to. Leveling your equip. first will garner more WP, thus more SP.
My most common fit: Std. Min logi suit, K-2 nanohives, Kin-012 injector, BDR-2 rep tool, two enhanced ferroscale plates, two basic shield extenders, combat rifle, std. AV grenades. I've got lvl 3 in Electronics, lvl 2 in Engineering and lvl 2 core upgrades, this fitting uses 219/229 CPU and 42/44 PG. My playstyle is more suited to speed and mobility, if you'd rather tank, keep using your plates but consider using a recharger or energizer in your highs.
I have to agree with Musta though, you're a logi, at the moment you might have the CPU to spare for a dam. mod, but once you start running enhanced equip. I'd get rid of it to save fitting costs. |

This should got you covered: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=79304&find=unread
In the meanwhile, try to work on dying less. Is it because of your positioning? Is it because you the bluedots around you make mistakes? ....?
Have fun. |

If you're really hurting for isk I'd prob just drop the MLT dam mod, they're such low numbers that it's really not much more than extra cost, other than that not a bad starting loadout.

Use the bejesus out of your "freebie" suits. Replace the injector in the "medic" suit with a repper. Use that like a poor-mans logi suit.
Figure out your usual income, and how many suits you can loose and still make some money. If you go past that, use your militia suits.
The damage mod is "over rated" use a shield extender or shield mod. Your firearm is secondary. Don't be afraid to use it. Sometimes it is more important than your other support tools.
Don't drop the injector for uplinks. Drop hives. (YMMV) |

skill into drop uplink deployment level 2
skill into nanocircuitry level 2
now you can deploy 3 different types of nanohives and uplinks at once
militia, standard, compact nanohive, and stable drop uplink
make a suit with the three uplinks
make another suit with the three nanohives
at the begginning of the match, throw down 3 uplinks, then switch then throw down 3 nanohives, now they will earn you points for the rest of the match
now switch to your third suit, with a nanite injector, repair tool, and nanohive, and go support infantry
stay behind groups, dont try to get kills just focus on not dying |

Thanks everyone for the advice! For the dmg mod, I stuck that on there since it seems I get someone within 1-2 shots of dying but don't bring them down when going in for a revive.

Practice the art of 'Pre-loaded' grenades.
Toss the grenade towards the enemy AFTER holding it for 1-2 seconds. Then fire your weapon towards them.
The 'hold before toss' ensures less time for them to move out of the way once it lands.

Follow the LogiBro guide that was mentioned somewhere in the first 4-5 post. Now that is out of the way.
My Point of View starting out on the drop suit setup, knowing that you are running a Minmatar Logi suit helps me out since I am at prototype level thanks to the LogiBro Guide (4 high, 4 low, 4 equipment). For a standard suit not bad but you could drop the damage modifier. Yea I know 3% damage could make a difference but you are better off putting on another shield extender. The proficiency in any weapon you use will help you out in dispersing additional damage. For example I am level 5 in AR and level 4 in proficiency (3% per level *4 levels = 12% more damage!!! Complex damage mod without the use for one.)
Good job on the equipment slots. Those are the basic LogiBro needs that anyone and everyone will benefit from. As usual the higher the equipment the more useful it will be but will consume more CPU/PG along with ISK. With that said make sure to max out Drop suit core upgrades along with engineering and electronics to get the maximum amount of space allowed on your suit. This in turn allows you to fit powerful weapons, modules, and or equipment.
Great job on the low slots with the armor plates. At your level you will need all the armor you can get especially if you are repairing at a rate of 1hp/s. At advance level you will get 3 high 3 low and at prototype 4 high 4 low 4 equipment.
My point of view on you dying a lot. Trust me when I say I was struggling with kills to deaths at standard level. I came to understand that I need to be around my squad majority of the time or at least around a group of good blueberries (players not in my squad). If you stick around your squad majority of the time you will soon see that you are dying less while obtaining more war points just by repairing, giving ammo, drop up links, scanning, killing, reviving, and laying down suppressive fire. If it's a health based problem consider spending skill points in drop suit armor upgrades and drop suit shield upgrades. Both of them increase the base value of the suit's armor and shield without additional modules.

1) Drop the damage mod. Not much use until you get to complex.
2) drop the needle in favor of an uplink, low tier needles are troublesome.
3) get your suit to level 3 as soon as it is practical, you won't be using the adv suit for a while but the bonus you get will be applied to the basic suit and be greatly helpful.
4) make situational fits as suggested already. Most of us experienced logis have a minimum of 5-10 fittings for different situations. Naturally you will be limited in your options at first but start now.
5) Don't worry about dying unless it's so often you are really hurting your team (uncommon), KDR means nothing to us and some of the best logis like crazy cat lady have KDRs less than 0.5, nobody smart would look down on her for it.
6) Most importantly, learn from those in your corp and use the resources available to you:
- The logi code is tried and tested, and guides you to use your SP very efficiently.
- Shay-z has some helpful videos.
- there is also my guide to using drop uplinks properly and in a tactical fashion.
