o7 rookie mercenaries of New Eden
First I would like to say welcome to the brutal universe of New Eden. Undoubtedly you have experienced the brutality and harshness of New Eden and have come to these forums for help.
Many folks are talking about the NPE (new player experience) and wants CCP getting involved to do that. It is my belief that since we are a community that as a community we should help our brethren of the sword in getting to the place they need to be. Experienced mercenaries are much better teachers than a NPE, IMO.
Frustration can come about on both sides; rookies and vets. And on both sides we have to learn patience and find ways to strengthen the community as a whole.
So I'm picking my brain for ideas but I would love to hear from the rookies on what you think the community can do to better help your experience. And when I say that, I think of strategies, tips, assisting with fits, understanding nuances such as PG/CPU, module stacking and hints etc.
I have thought of maybe getting a big get together, having some rookie nights where we can get some vets who are willing to teach and hold classes online to maximize your knowledge and war wisdom.
It is also encouraged that when you see newbies in New Eden that you send them to this section in the forums. Help your fellow merc get acclimated. As they learn, the competition and gameplay will enhance. It's a benefit to all.
So give it a thought on what can be done by the community to help you. And if you need be, you can contact me online at anytime with any questions you might have. I have a pretty odd work schedule but on the off days you can catch me on the OUKH channel and on the battlefield most hours of the day.
With your willingness and the help of the community, we can build a better playerbase tomorrow
Good hunting out there people and I hope to hear from you soon!

As far as this section of the forums goes, I've found a crap ton of useful info. Feel like Logi is what I want to spec into, so I'm following the Logi Code here. That said, personally I feel the community is doing all it can to help us new guys. It seems there's a bazilion groups dedicated to showing us how to do things. Because of this, I posted a thread in the Feedback section asking if CCP could possibly mention these groups when a merc graduates from the Academy. Think it would go a long way in growing the playerbase.
I would rather die my way than live by yours.

Good to hear! I have a limited perspective and from what I read in general discussions, it seems that rookies weren't getting much help as of late. I just wanted to make sure and help out anyway I can.
Thanks for the positive feedback!
happy hunting out there

I am leaning towards agreeing with this, and am probably going to list it in another thread I started in feedback about NPE. However CCP has already nixed such a notion in Eve-O, so I would expect them to take the same stance here in Eve-D. To our detriment, I believe.
