I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle so gimped. Able to occasionally kill infantry, a blaster madrugar has such poor damage output, maneuverability, and survivability that they're easy kills for a rail turret. There's nothing I like seeing more than a squad of blaster madrugars and somas, ripe for the picking. I don't know why you'd bother yourself with a turret only marginally better at killing infantry, or why you'd bother aiming for infantry in the first place.
But please keep doing so. +180 Madrugar Destruction is a wonderful message to receive. |

If i use mine i aim gimping myself to an extent, mainly against other vehicles
If i use an ion cannon i have to sacrifice the defence of the tank but it does nail infantry well and against some tanks it will do very well
If i use a basic blaster i can have improved defence and maybe something in the high slots and it still can nail infantry to the wall but against another tank it can struggle and not even break the shield regen
Its an infantry killer fit mostly but can kill vehicles if you the drop on them

Yeah blasters are pitiful AV weapons, only really good if you catch a shield tank with its hardeners off and a pilot with poor reaction time. Blaster DPS is simply too low and Madrugar fitting too tight to make it a viable anti-vehicle platform in comparison to a shield tank.

All blasters are almost completely walled by shield hardeners and an extender. They'll over heat before any real damage is done and the shield will repair that before it's done cooling down. Once they're down is another story, though, so armor is still better in the long run.

Thing is most shield tanks now run 2-3 hardeners which means they can stay hardened indefinitely.

Well a lot of Blaster Maddy fits are designed around surviving infantry AV but struggle against Vehicle AV (mostly by rep-tanking).
Whereas a lot of the Rail Gunners are set up around either damage mods or hardners, which actually makes them more vulnerable to infantry AV.
I've had a lot of matches where my Rail or Missile squadmate actually had to be concerned by a set of swarms or roof top forge because their hardners were down and it stopped their reps.
This may just be me noticing a trend that isn't there though, it at least seems that way.

I am a madrugar blaster master dude on my alt. Its a great anti installation and anti personnel lawn mower!
Lets hope CCP will fix the mCRU soon. That could make the maddy to be the MAV of this game.

If you can't kill assault dropships with forge guns then you are just terrible.
Swarms can't do it solo, but if you pair up with a forge gun you guys are just bad if you can't take out a dropship that isn't hugging the flight ceiling.
