i see this whole TTK issue still seems to be plaguing a lot of people in DUST, but i can't seem to figure out why. i run a 350 ehp scout mk.0 or a 400 ehp scout gk.0 and the only times i die in under a second are when:
A.) i get one shotted by a ScR
B.) im caught in a narrow hallway or with minimal cover
C.) a HMG heavy spawns behind me when im hacking or fighting near a CRU or objective.
i guess you could say a smaller hitbox could cause me to get hit less, except for the fact that the few times i ran myofybril tanked assault, i STILL did very well and the one day i tested heavy, went 28-4 on my first game and got 20+ kills on every one afterwards.
i mean really, it's as easy as picking your battles, LEARNING HOW TO F*CKING STRAFE, and for the love of god, USING COVER. people say speed tanking is no longer viable yet i do it on every map except for Manus Peak and do pretty well.
so what's the deal? is the problem that FotM scrubs want to be god mode even though they already play easy mode? or is it that i'm used to dying in under a second since i run scout, and have learned to avoid it? i honestly don''t know the answer, because one would think that by now, people have learned to get past the TTK.

By virtue of simply being a scout you will have superior scan precision and scan radius. This can help you pick your engagements easier than a medium or heavy frame. Add to that superior movement and sprint speeds, and you are capable of flanking or disengaging better than a medium or heavy frame. Realize that this is an inherent advantage of your dropsuit, and not everyone gets to enjoy these bonuses.
As an assault I expect to be able to take a few shots before dropping. Instead it's *blap, blap* Press X to call for help.

I've been going back and forth between a 550 ish eHP logi and a heavy. I can tell a very significant difference between the two, but even with the logi, I know I die fast to some proto damage modded weapons but it isn't as bad as some people make it.
Its just that it started out all choppy with bad hit detection and the KBM players were used to super strafing at inhuman speeds, now that can't be done nearly as well. |
