So I made a new character and was following the little tutorial like process that gives you few free things for doing it, I get in to my first game and spawn in my free militia gear. I gt blown up within the first 10 seconds by a incubus, a few spawns later I manage to get to the NULL cannon ( this is a domination game ) and there is a gunnlogi sitting there defending it. There should be some sort of SP limit for the battle academy, my only guess is that these guys let some character sit with passive SP on for quite a while, came back and were still in the battle academy.
Sorry for the little wall of text I dont usually post on the forums, but i just think there is something wrong with this.

There is a cap on the instant battle academy: 2mil lifetime SP. Passive or not.
Or 10,000 WP; which ever comes first.

Didnt know that, maybe some sort of cap that disallows certain vehicles, dropsuits, or weapons. Still kinda rediculous for a Incubus to be in a academy battle.

Yes, there is a cap, which is way too low, but nothing that stops players from creating alts and playing there, in fact I don't think you can bypass it. Douchebags take advantage of this and mow down brand new players. |

There shouldn't be vehicles but that isn't the problem, the probl is experienced players playing in the Academy matches. |

Yeah, I was just thinking, we were all getting slaughtered, I'm not a new player but i was still getting killed enough to just discourage me from continuing on that character for a little bit, I cant even imagine how the newer players feel.

Why? Vehicle pilots need the instant battle academy too.
But I think what you are experiencing is how OP many vehicle are in 1.7. The vehicle buff coupled with the AV nerf that we just had is causing many matches to come down to whoever can field the most vehicles wins.

I can understand that, but a militia tank can do the same job as a standard tank, assault dropships, yeah theres no militia or standard version of this but costing 322k itself and probable around 350 - 400k to fit I dont think it should be allowed in the battle academy.
Another suggestion would be to add sort of tiers to the battle academy, if your automatically booted at 2m sp, you should play with players around were your SP is at. since all players start with 500k sp but probably dont invest it right away 0 invested sp - 700k invested sp, than 700k to 1m sp, some sort of system like this to give the truly new players practice. Starting a brand new game up that looks great and you hear lots of things about, only to get destroyed relentlessly may be appealing to some, but others may make them not want to play at all.
Again, this is just my opinion though.

How much did you invest in this new character? 3.5 million, or about 2 months playing time and for that you got a guy who can kill a few tanks, if he also has LAV skills and runs with a partner. Congratulations, post your videos showing us how you kicked ass with the forge being your only primary weapon, 0 armor or shields upgrades, no AI grenades, etc. |

AFAIK, the current WP limit for the battle academy is 1200. Or thereabouts. |

A tiered approach to instant battle academy would be nice, but this is a short term fix. Long term, new players will need PvE to get them familiar with Dust 514. Unfortunately, it seems PvE is not coming out any time soon.

You are shitting me... those poor newbies...
Can someone explain to me why CCP hates new players so much? It's like they want them to be punished for trying to learn the game.

Dust needs a tutorial rework like Eve got a year or two ago, PvE would help a bunch.

Sorry for the little wall of text I dont usually post on the forums, but i just think there is something wrong with this. Saddly, vets enjoy scarring away new players. They're under the mentality of "b****, this new eden! Nothing is fair!"
I agree that a game should be hard and challenging, but there is a fine line between challenge and imposible.
Because of vets (commonly called protostompers), none of my friends play dust. They all agree that dark souls is a cake walk in comparison.
I'd say walk in my shoes for a day, but you probably still won't understand.

It's a bit of a flaw in CCPs plan... You just can't have the kind of dog eat dog mentality that exists in Eve without the PvE that also exists in Eve as a stepping stone.
The last i heard, CCP didn't want to think too hard about a Ps4 port, because there are 80,000,000 Ps3 units worldwide. But look at the player stats of people actually playing at any given time vs the length of time the game has been available.... It is virtually zero growth. This game is beyond niche, it's practically underground.
And unfortunately given the fps format, if CCP wants to change those stats, the game itself will have to be changed so that it no longer automatically favours the people that have been here the longest, and/or have the best Isk-farming exploit.
I can understand CCPs dilemma though. Do we stick to the overarching design philosophy of New Eden, favouring our loyal fanbase and hemorrhaging new players?, or do we sh*t on our core of die-hard loyalists?
I guess it depends on whether they wish to have a player-base strong enough to follow the eventual move to P2P, or whether the game will remain F2P and hard as hell to get into and stick with.
Shouting doesn't make your opinion seem more valid, it just makes you seem more annoying.
