Just a little tip. Most people know that training Dropsuit electronics / engineering is useful for getting more CPU/PG out of your suit. But I thought it would be useful to list some of the skills that reduce fitting requirements that you may have overlooked early on.
You will want to get all of these skills up to level 4 or 5 to fit more onto your suit:
- Dropsuit Core upgrades (+1% CPU/PG)
- Dropsuit Electronics (+5% CPU)
- Dropsuit Engineering (+5% PG)
- Nanocircuitry (-CPU usage on hives/injectors). **The description is missing this bonus!**
- Explosives (-3% CPU on grenades)
- Light Weapon Operation (-3% CPU usage on all rifles!)
- Sidearm weapon Operation (-3% CPU usage on sidearms. Useful if you fit 2 weapons)
- Heavy weapon Operation (-3% CPU usage on Heavy weapons)
All weapons also have a fitting optimisation skill. But even trained to level 5, most weapons would only have their PG usage reduced by 1 or 2 points.
Hopefully this helps someone, I overlooked the explosives & Nanocircuitry skills as I was only using the lower tiered stuff. After training I got some extra CPU on my suits which let me fit some larger mods. |

I'd suggest only going to 4 on many of those skills until you are well over 20 mil SP. Example: drop suit core, engineering, and electronics. Even on a logi suit, the 770k you spend to level 5 in engineering is simply not worth it. Light weapons too, you don't unlock anything past level 4 and 3% on anything but maybe proto scramblers is also not much bang for your buck.

A Proto HMG uses about 98 CPU so I chose to level Heavy Weapon Operation to 4 rather than Electronics to 5, as it allowed me to fit what I needed at a fraction of the skill point cost. It allowed me to run Proto HMG and all Complex modules on a Standard suit. It is good to consider all the skill options.

Light/Heavy weapon proficiency helps heaps with every suit! Just a shame that the fitting optimisation for the HMG (and all other weapons) only gives a few PG for a 6x skill. |

Exactly. The best advice is to calculate the acfual impact on your fittings compared to the SP cost, you will often find that what you think is a "good deal" is not the best one.
