If you've been here for awhile you've seen this game go through alot of changes. The monthly update cycle which wasn't initially planned brought in content piece by piece instead of large chunks every 6 months. Take all the content and bugs from Uprising 1.0 to 1.7 and you'll see CCP added a lot of cool and useful content. 2 important things promised but never delivered on were PVE and racial parity. We are going to be getting the suits in 1.8. It's likely we wont be getting PVE anytime soon, because they have not only stated it's not a high priority, but they are currently looking for a game designer focussed on AI.
CCP doesn't like giving respecs when they don't have to, but they know there will have to be one final one when all the basic content is realeased. I can't say for sure a respec will be 1.8 because it's not unlikely when the other racial vehicles do come out they will have vehicle rebalances similar to the suit changes in 1.8 and they may wait until then to give out the final respec.
What I hope is they do is hold off on the respec, wait until all equipment content is released, all the current vehicles have racial equivilents, and most importantly its all balanced enough to make nothing OP and nothing useless. So if I have to wait until after 1.8 for that final respec, I'm fine, I could wait another year, heck I dont even care if they don't give one, just as long as it's balanced when they do. No one wants a repeat of Cal Logi TAR 514.
2.0 will hopefully be the big one.
Where is my Gallente sidearm? 1.8? When is that? SoonGäó514

Well said Tallen. I feel exactly the same way about it. As far as the final respec I do look forward to it when it comes - so much has changed that even my fundamentals-first, generalist build has misallocated skillpoints from changes to the game.
But no sense halfassing it - completed racial lineups and balancing must come first.
I support SP rollover.

this. Thpugh they messed up on some aspects. Overall, the game improved.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not ur day, tomorrow doesn't look too bright either.
