I'm still thinking about it. coming back to the game is quite a big decision. Do I really want to go back to the frustration of a broken game, only to find myself getting drunk everynight on the games comms...
because it is more fun to get drunk and talk to people on comms than to actually play the game

Last I heard they said late February/early March.
They also said they're planning on getting the patch notes out sooner than later this time, but I doubt it.

If you do decide to come back,in the interest of your sanity, you better get a tank, a rail rifle, or a combat rifle. If not you will be headed right back out the door.
I personally took the fun route. Nothing like continued asbestos exposer to make you forget how badly this game has gone screaming off the tracks.

Plenty of other choices. You could do your taxes, get a prostate exam, test your resistance to various toxins produced by poisonous animals, drink paint thinner, make the decision to take your grandmother off life support, fall off a 3 story building, fall off a 4 story building, stick your arm into the serpentine belt of a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, catch your wife cheating on you, cheat on your wife get caught and lose the kids and 50% of your sh*t in the court battle, ect ect.
I'm going with the forum QQ meta game exclusively until september, when i will jump ship like a wet rat, and finally feel the warm embrace of an actual, working video game. CCP needs to stick to salting fish and making old world wood furniture, or whatever the hell it is Icelandic people traditionally do.
Sorry, i'm rambling. Run John. Run far far away. Coming back here is like picking up cigarettes after having quit for 10 years. Its a bad decision.

20 years of depression and worry has made my use of time clear cut. If anything makes me miserable I cut it out of my life. I can appreciate your predicament though. I guess its the current imbalances and less than super sonic development speed that drove you away?
It's not always fun but when I'm getting my ass handed to me for whatever buggy/imbalance reason, I just focus back on my merc, making him awesome despite all the BS because I believe that one day the game will be what we all want it to be. But even when I do get ROFLSTOMPED by tanks and FotMs, I may curse a little and consider throwing my controller against the wall (lol I have considered this often) but still I enjoy it.
I also just enjoy watching the game grow too. All of the ups and downs will one day be stories we recollect like some kind of history. It's not a perfectly polished bug free retail game shooter but that's part of the charm for me. I'm a closed beta vet and am really happy to have been one of the ones who "got it" and stuck around...the community is interesting, CCP are awesome and the whole culture around the game intrigues me.
Anyway, whatever you choose to do, just make sure you're happy and will have no regrets.
