Alright! The MQ! The "hizz-ouse" to some of us. :D
Really, playing EVE for the past month or so, has opened my eyes to a couple things. Most of them, I understand and get why it can't be done with the game in it's current state. However, the MQ in particular, stands out.
In EVE, we have a similar (optional) room, called the Captain's Quarters. Similar thing, really. A room to look at your assets and market, edit fits, and all that stuff. I just want to port a little bit of that to DUST, to make EVE players feel more at home, and to make our Mercenary feel more at home. :)
1) Hangar Doors. I know, I know, we can't fly ships, HOWEVER, this is my idea. Depending on what race you have, when you go through he Hangar Doors and down the walkway, it will show a different ship. Can't fly it, can't fit it, just cosmetic. The type of ship will be based on SP, and how much SP you have determines what type of ship it has on it. Example below (WARNING: Minor EVE knowledge needed): This is a rough draft of what ship progression would look like on a Gallente character... 1 million SP and under - Velator 3 million SP and under - Tristan* 5 million SP and under - Algos* 10 million SP and under - Vexor* 20 million SP and under - Myrmidon* 30 million SP and under - Dominix* You get the idea. I don't know what would be past 30 million SP (Maybe T2 ships?), but that's the general outline of what I think should happen. It shows SP progression and it gives you something nice to look at, as well as gives a DUST merc one less annoyance (Specifically, the doors not opening) *With each different "rank", a ship will be randomly chosen from that class of ship. Instead of a Tristan, you could get an Imicus, and instead of a Mymidon, you could get a Brutix. Completely random upon reaching the rank.
2) Station Door. This, I was surprised about, and shouldn't be that big of a change. In EVE, the second door that doesn't open (to the left of the Hangar Door, usually in a small hallway), there's at least a small button to press. It should be, that if you walk up to the door, and hit circle to exit/enter, it gives a little popup saying something along the lines of "Atmospheric levels not safe for human life". Something like that. There should be a small red glowing panel next to the door as well.
3) Physical Fitting tools. In case you aren't aware, there are Vehicle and Dropsuit fitting tools inside your MQ. One is placed on your table (vehicle), and one is placed somewhere near the bed usually. My 2 main problems are these: - The Dropsuit Fitting tool should be a mirror, just like it is in EVE. something about looking at my own character is very satisfying, even if I don't have a custom character. - The vehicle fitting should change based on what your current "Favorite" vehicle fit is. For example, it always shows some kind of HAV. It think, if you have a Caldari Dropship as your favorite fit, it should show a Caldari Dropship Hologram instead of a stupid Gallente HAV, and if you have Gallente LAV as your Favorite Fit, it should show a Gallente LAV instead of a Cadlari HAV. See what I'm saying?
4) Marketplace Window. Again, for those who aren't aware, the big flat-screen in your MQ is also used as a Marketplace window. In DUST and EVE, this has 3 panels. One bigger panel, and 2 smaller panels. This is how it should be arranged... Left-Hand panel - Corporation Information. In EVE, clicking the leftmost panel brings up your "Corporation" tab from the Neocom. Middle panel - In EVE, this switched between different things. Personally, I feel like it should alternate between the market, help, maybe a couple videos, contacts, etc. Right-hand panel - Dunno what this would be for in DUST, as in EVE it's for Planetary Interaction. Maybe it's should be the Starmap, or a map of PC districts owned by your corporation? Who knows.
5) The couch. I don't need to explain. Do it.
That's all for now. Gimme likes pl0x.
