The first fauna should be fireflies, butterflies, and grasshoppers. Reason: It's a little thing I could enjoy, similar to how I enjoy coming across the wild life in Skyrim. Secondly, make sure you fix night skyboxes before introducing fireflies. Fireflies need to help illuminate the night rather than having constant ambient lighting from the oversized moon you placed there for an excuse.

I vote for wild slaver hounds.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage is more lethal.

Flora should be added before fauna, in my opinion.
That's why I did my forest map thread over at the map forum thing. |

Christ, no. Can you imagine the trouble they'd cause if they got into an uplink?

Actually having Slaver Hounds would be more "realistic" than having butterflies, fireflies or grasshoppers seeing how those insects are Earth bound inhabitants.
Slaver hound and other New Eden creatures would be really nice to see in game rather than just a collectors item you have in your hangar in EVE.

There have been mentions of many flora and fauna from Earth before in the Chronicles. Salmon and wheat are the first things to come to mind. I don't see why grasshoppers couldn't have hitched a ride to New Eden with wheat shipments 20K years ago.

How about first giving us terrain before we implement living beings? The terrain that we currently have is painful to navigate. I don't want to know what happens if trees or something are implemented, even if bushes would have nice tactical value.
Also, the red ashes that drop from the sky are insanely annoying. They look almost exactly the same as the symbol of a redberry. |

I don't think many of you got the point. I'm not saying "Prioritize this CCP!" I'm saying "look start little" because apparently introducing things like vehicles, combat rifles, rail rifles, plasma cannons, were all too big of a start so they screwed them up. I'm saying start where you can't go wrong:
Butterflies, Moths, Fireflies, Grasshoppers.
CCP even made the sun OP though...I guess it would be too much for them to handle.

How about mosquito/firefly hybrid that when "stimulated" by the correct electrical impulse they will attach to the nearest enemy and detonate themselves into a small scale EMP.
Grasshoper/leaches that stalk these so called "snipers" and slowly destroy and feed of their hives, and just when it's to late the victim is devoured.
How about "tremor" like beasts who feed on mercs as they travel the battlefield. Winged beasts who rule the skies and attack anything that can fly, or attempts to fly. Beings of pure energy similar to the Eridian in BL2 as a 3rd (AI controlled) opponent as our mercs attempt to contest themselves.
Wait a minute, am I describing PVE??????

If we get slaver hounds then I want erotic dancers too. My station hangers in EvE are all full of those ladies and I think they need to go planet side for some R&R. They are kept mighty busy by all the slaves an janitors I have lounging about up there too.

Hold your horses there Tonto, I'm not saying we could necessarily interact with them but it would be kind of neat to run into some fireflies or crickets on your way to your sniper perch or get some bug splat on your LAV if you could interact with them :P. But just in general, I would like the game to feel better to play and just enjoying some more little things could go a long way as long as real progress on balance and such is prioritized as a more often patch in.

I agree with this, it's small enough that it could be granted easily enough. When vegetation was introduced, they said it was called the "flowers and friends" project. So where are the friends? Also I think that night maps should be darker. With more lights in the outposts and compounds. Hence the lightning bugs you suggested. Just hope this doesnt make the game lag...
