I'm shooting for a Minmatar Light Dropsuit. I'm going for more speed and being agile and stealthy.
I may even go down the Scout path as well mixing faster hacking speeds while still being able to get things done combat wise.
but I do have a lot of questions because I made a lot of Rookie mistakes already.
I started spending most of my beginning SP on things outside of the Core Dropsuit Upgrades and I was not really sure whrre to put them considering that the slots for Minmatar Light Dropsuits would be different for other dropsuits obviously. I know that I want to go for the fast movements (i forgot the skill tree section but its where Hand to Hand is), but also I was told by many people that its smart to go for the core stuff first.
My question is.. do I need to skill even in Armor plates and all that even though my character may only be equipment with like armor repairs (since Armor plates slow you down by 2%). I know some skills are neccessary for Light Dropsuits and some may be more geared towards heavy.
So what would you recommend in skilling for a Minmatar Light Dropsuit in the Dropsuit Upgrades section?
I also tried a lot of other weapons like.. Railguns, Combat Rifles, Scramble Rifles, Shots guns, etc. I find I do best with shotfuns if I don't get killed right away and I see that I also very well with Assault rifles even with my light dropsuit. What are you thoughts about weapons for Minmatar Light Dropsuits/Scout Dropsuits? |

You don't have to skill into the plates themselves, but adding points to Armor and Shields (the base ones) get more HP for all your suits -- you will eventually want them both to level 5.
With the light dropsuit, and personally, I'd go with something that hits at range, like the CR or RR or ScR The AR is too limited in terms of range, IMO, and I'm a bit surprised to hear you prefer them (have you tried the assault versions of the ScR, CR and RR, which all have iron sites like the AR). Then again, much of your weapon choice depends on your playstyle...some light suit players like to keep both their weapons short range, and others like a short and long range combo.
Hope this helps...Leadfoot |

Actually, you did help man. Thank you.
I don't know I guess I tried the Combat Rifle, Rail Rifle, and Scrambler Rifle and I just couldn't get into them. I actually saw myself do a lot better with the Assault Rifle and the Shotgun believe it or not but then again.. this probably has more to do with my "dying too fast" complex. I'll give them another go I suppose, but you also said something about an Assault Version of the ScR, CR, and RR... please do tell. I will say something. I did like the Rail Rifle and Combat Rifle, but man I HATED the Scrambled Rifle. The moment someone appears in front of me... I'm screwed. I'm trying to go for a weapon thats going to help me in most ranges. Even if that means a Shotgun for close range and a sidearm for far range (although I'm sure most side arms aren't good for long range right?) |

Always do the 4 core skills first.
Dropsuit Armor Upgrades Dropsuit Shield Upgrades Dropsuit Electronics Dropsuit Engineering
Up to level 3 for all if you can, but at least level 3 for Shield Upgrades and Armor Upgrades. Each level in them is +5% to effective armor or shields, and in a light suit you need everything you can get. Electronics and engineering can follow as needed, but you'll find you run out of CPU and PG pretty quickly without them.
After that, skill priorities for lights differ from medium and heavy suits. After core skills, the most important skills to learn are the Electronics and Biotics skill groups. Electronics are better bang for buck to start with, as they improve your base stats, even if you don't fit the corresponding module.
Electronic skills are: Profile Dampening (makes you harder to scan) Range Enhancement (so you can scan enemies at greater range) Precision Enhancement (so you can scan harder to see targets)
Biotic skills are: Dropsuit Biotic Upgrades (improves all movement related stats, run speed, sprint speed, max stamina, and stamina regen) Cardiac Regulation (modules increase max stamina and stamina regen) Kinetic Catalyzation (increases sprint speed)
For weapons, Assault rifle is fine for ranged work. To be honest, while they all have certain advantages and disadvantages, all of the rifle variants are ok, just pick the one you like the most. Shotgun is a great light suit weapon if you can regularly get close enough. You could also try the Scrambler Pistol paired with the Shotgun to give you a bit more range. The Scrambler Pistol is a beast once you get good with it (4x damage on headshot), but can be difficult to start with.
