Today I thought since it was triple SP week I'd try logging in and playing a few matches. It seems Scotty the matchmaking AI had other plans.
The first match I got dumped into was a Domination in which our MCC had 3 ticks of health left, theirs was at full health, and the objective was red. I spawned in with a free suit and before I could even leave the match it was over.
The second match was a Skirmish where my team was completely redlined and our MCC was just under half armor. At least that time I was able to leave rather than get into that meat grinder.
The third try left me stuck at the loading screen and I had to hard-reset my PS3.
After rebooting, I actually got into a match that was just starting... on a team with two protosquads. I was left bored looking for something to do while they wiped the floor with the other team.
Took a break for a couple hours, then tried again. This time I was on a team against two protosquads, we were decidedly stomped, and the only person on my team with a positive K/D had under 800 WP (#1 on our chart).
Well, clearly Scotty doesn't want me to play Dust today. I also learned that this triple-SP week is another triple-grind week where the cap is increased but the rate of SP accumulation is unchanged... which for someone who hasn't capped since Chromosome (before protosquads ran rampant, when more matches were more balanced) really doesn't make any difference at all.
I like Dust. It has so much potential, and I want so badly to see it succeed and become the game we all know it can and should be. But with matchmaking like this... Unless it gets fixed, and most matches become fun for more people than just the protosquads...
What about you guys? What hells has Scotty thrown you into? Share your frustrations, vent, whatever.

Pretty much summed up this entire week. Last night was the first time all week I got into a couple matches. Enjoyed, match 3 sorry said **** you your not suppose to enjoy this game and crashed me.

I've had decent luck, Scotty seems no more or less ret4rded than usual to me. Did have the one battle I don't think I even saw the tacnet map before it ended. That was fun.
BTW, SP gain has been buffed very nicely by CCP in the exact way myself and a few others (notably aero yassavi who's non-drunken maths turned out to be more accurate, unsurprisingly) suggested after the horrid grind fest the last event was. I'm getting 10-15k SP pretty reliably each match, if you can pull over 2000 WP you get around 20k SP, that feels really nice to see that number, esp with the omega booster making it 40k.
Based on that prior math, if you get around 1000 WP per match you'll hit the triple cap in pretty much the same amount of time you would hit the regular cap. Working as intended.

Yes, during the event you're earning 5x the SP for each 1 WP you get, as opposed to the conventional 1:1 payout.
And yes, having capped two characters already and a third a definate at the end of the week, I have only become much too familiar with the matchmaking hiccups, the broken mechanics, and everything that makes me just want to say no.
But I didn't, I haven't, and at the end will probably check myself in somewhere for an evaluation.
I contribute nothing.

Ah... Maybe that's why I didn't notice any difference, because I'm not getting any WP because Scotty is putting me in the worst possible matches. My mistake, carry on then.

One day I called in a Dropship, and scotty loaded it into the orbital strike cannon instead.
Oddly the dropship survived the impact. 3 blueberries didn't. The RDV then flew in to check up on the strike's accuracy.
