What about the introduction of a jammer? Placeable like an uplink/nanohive and jams within a certain radius? |

A deploy-able like Nanohives or Uplinks, the ECM Scrambler will cause nearby friendlies to be much harder to scan down, but not impossible. There are certain Active Scanners that have very high scanning power, they could pierce through the interference. There could be a short range Scrambler that has immense power that only the best Active Scanner could pierce in Prototype tier as well, to encourage ranking up. Better range at higher metalevels, better scrambling ability etc.
What do you all think? We need something like this to help preserve the roles of Ambushing Heavies and other defenders, as well as giving another toy for Logi's to use to help the team.
Edit: Examples of use: Squad attacks a point and uses a sub-par Active Scanner, which reveals no defenders. Rushing in half-cocked, a Heavy-Logi pair hiding in the doorjam razes them as they enter. If the same squad used a more precise Scanner, they may have picked up the Heavy, Logi, or both.
A sniper on a mountain carries one instead of his Nanohive. He has less shots, but can survive longer due to the difficulty of countersniping an electronically invisible foe.
A Sneaky Scout requires movement, so he won't use these... but he might ninja one into an enemy encampment, allowing the attack wave he vanguards to move in under ECM cover.
All of these can be foiled by the other team simply using their eyes and calling things out to their team, it simply levels the playing field between attackers and defenders on the scanning front, and might give Vanguards a new toy.
