So, I don't see enough LAVs on the field being used for assaulting. They're mostly used for taxis and that's kind of a waste. I wanted to see how well an LAV could do with a dedicated gunner and driver. With some practice it works quite well.
-Gunners were scoring 15-20+ kills per match. -I was getting 700-1000 WP per match for driving them around, cycling mods, putting out scans.
After playing strictly LAV driver and gunner for a few hours we started seeing people we had played against pulling out LAVs and trying to chase us down/trying to gun people down themselves. It was pretty fun to see. I hope to see more vehicle usage that requires good operator/gunner chemistry.
Downsides: No transport points. Small turret hit detection sucks. Lost more LAVs to tanks bumping into me than anything.

The particle accelerator OHKs me from time to time. Occasionally, at significant range.
Is it effective vs HAVs / Dropships? |

YES! Well not maddies. Maddies rep too fast.
When there was a lot of LAVs/Dropships/Shield tanked ships on the field I put a damage mod on and we were downing dropships, blowing up LAVs, and killed 2 tanks. Tanks are obviously harder because you have sneak up on them before they can turn their turret around and then try to get behind them again before they heal all the way. Shield vehicles are easier to take down because after their shields are down they can't rep for a few seconds.
Avoiding tanks would be the best option unless you've got a guy with swarms or a forge in the passenger seat. Dropships and lavs are easy though.

I believe the scout squad we were up against was giving our infantry a hell of a fight.

I think that video was from a couple different battles. Either way you shot me down with that LAV rail gun and I was actually pretty impressed. Definately not expecting that
