This week on Mythbusters...I mean um...
Over the past two and a half months I've been doing an experiment.
Previously I had been running ADV all the time with proto here or there and wasn't making any sort of profit. My average suit cost was anywhere from 50-80k, with proto being about 110k. I would be up 5 million one month and then be down 5 million the next. I figured that the best way to earn isk was to make a bunch of cheap suits instead and run those for a while.
In two months I was able to earn 15 million isk running only standard and adv suits costing anywhere from 10k to 35k. I started at 25 million isk and worked all the way up to 40 million for this experiment.
However, I didn't like using these suits. I died a lot, I wasn't having a lot of fun, and it was a lot more effort to run these cheap suits than it was to run my previous suits. It was hard for me to stay above 2k wp per match and I was too squishy to be an effective support player. I do have to say though, spending so much time in std gear really upped my gun game and logi abilities.
Then I spent 15 million isk on 100 prototype fittings that cost 136k isk each, and 30-50 copies of certain items on the other variations of that suit. (Prototype suit and modules, some prototype equipment, ADV weapons).
The last two weeks I ran only proto and have just run out of suits. Here is my conclusion:
I now have a total of 46 million isk 21 million isk earned in 2 weeks. Profit of 6 million isk in two weeks, extrapolated to 12m per month or 24m in two months Average of about 300-400k isk per match Average of 2500-3500 wp per match Died about 0-4 times per match
So looking at the numbers I'm making 4-5 million more isk per month than I would running std/adv (12m vs 7.5m), and I'm much more effective at what I'm doing. I'm able to stay in the battle longer to support more, I earn money quickly enough to pay for the suits I'm using, and my wp totals are always high up there. Not only am I using effective suits, but I can play normally, boost my stats, and earn money all at the same time.
Myth Confirmed.

Hopefully the cloaking equipment helps balances the field a bit.
Most scout deaths are from being shot at from 5000000 meters away from a rail rifle who can kill them in two shots as they're moving from point A to point B. With cloaking you'll be able to move around the battlefield undetected.

To make profit you just have to earn more ISK than you lose.
How much ISK you make in a game mainly depends on the opponent which you really can't control (and how good you do in that game.)
What you can control is how much ISK you lose from dying. Maybe you do that by bringing better gear or better teammates or just abuse the broken spawning mechanics in ambush,...that's all up to you but I feel like this myth is busted.
You should be able to make the same WP (even more) with lower end logi-gear, but then again it strongly depends on the quality of your team and opponent. If your team is too good, you will redline the entire match having not much to do except to get sniped by redline snipers. If your team is too weak, you will get slaughtered. If both teams are equal (happens rarely) you have the most fun in this game (and the most profit as a logi). That's just my observation.

Well... Prototype gear really is cheap as ****.
Back in Chromo a proto suit was a costly deal. I remember fully outfitted suits costing around 300k.

Cloaking wont help, the issue is the Aimbot, people don't have to be able to skillfully aim at us while we run full tilt, people have to press the trigger, the gun and game will do the rest, even missed bullets hit if when they were fired aimbot said they where on target.

Don't know if it's a myth or not. Send it into the mythbusters and then we may also get some prime advertising for the game and an influx of new players (not that I think they'll test it, but you never know)
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.
