So about respecs... great that ccp have decided to give us one finally so that we can get all of our hard earned sp back and spend it on something that is actually worth something now. but even with this respec i still feel a little indecisive, not because of all of the options in weaponry but in my opinion that ccp doesnt know how to buff or nerf weapons correctly (THIS IS MY OPINION...i know the mere mention of the word nerf causes havoc here) but seriously...the only weapon i currently feel cofident at investing in is the sniper rifle as it never changes much...maybe the shot gun too, because no matter what other weapon I spec into; flaylock (still a good weapon but you have to admit its preeettyy weak in comparison to what it was), assault (loathed the AR 514 era buuuuttt i DID put a lot of sp into it) rifle, mass driver, etc...i eventually feel like i've wasted my time on them cus they will get nerfed, and by that i mean not balanced..just NERFED to the point where its no point in using the weapon anymore, and i feel like i wasted my damn time in the long run. This is the only FPS i've ever played where stats change so wildly and randomly yet it doesnt give players the freedom to respect whenever they want, or at least offer a respect whenever they turn a weapon into a turd. like i wanna spec into the rail rifle but i keep hearing people wanting THAT to get nerfed (though i'll agree it miiight be too good at close range whereas the combat rifle is only good at closer ranges, but i digress) .
I'm just saying i think that they should try to give us the luxury of our own respecs cus the game's stats are pretty..non solid. like either having to pay 30 mil to 50 mil isk (or like borderlands 2 where the cost varies depending on how many skill points you have) or maybe fork over some aur for it. |

By posting that we will have all racial suits, radically changed suit roles and generally just an entirely different scenario for infantry.
Sure, it's no official guarantee that we will have a respec, but to me that's pretty much the same as saying we will have a respec. If we don't get one I'm sure you can expect a lot of angry people being mad at CCP for radically changing what they skilled into etc.

@Iron Wolf - I think it has got to the point where a respec needs to happen

Considering the current SP event and CCP's history on respecs I'd say we are highly unlikely going to get one.

I don't know about you, but I feel like I've been conned. It's just a feeling mind you, because of course, on a rational level I'm pretty sure that CCP's "contract" probably stipulates that they can take back whatever they've sold us (or ruin it) whenever they like in the interest of "game balance" or whatever. On the other hand, a perpetually growing complex videogame like this needs re-balancing from time to time, and Rail Rifles, etc. need a friggin' nerf. Yea, so maybe the best thing for CCP to do is to give us the occasional respec so as to allow us to let off some of this hate-steam many of us (probably) have been building up.  (That's the irrational level.) Give us the friggin' respec CCP! (please) |

But ONLY suits, not guns, or equipment not ANYTHING else

Maybe, but I actually think that we are entitled to a full infantry respec (maybe not in 1.8, but at least soon) due to all the accumulated changes from uprising 1.0 respec until now, i.e:
- Caldari Assault bonus change.
- Caldari Logistics CPU nerf.
- All weapon nerfs/buffs such as AR, swarms, MD, etc etc etc.
- TTK being broken since 1.4.
- Tankers got a respec in 1.7 due to a "skill and bonus remake" just like the one we are getting.
You cannot just disregard all these changes when discussing a full infantry respec.
Just like Atli says in the video I posted before: "All these changes are disruptive to both us and the players" |
