hey just a thought., would it be possible to build other variants of some weapons to fire different types of ammo.. some ideas: mass driver: flux round variant (for those hard to reach links) assault rifle: tracer round variant: every 3rd or 5th round is incendiary (dmg increase) shotgun: solid round variant: more damage from further away but more recoil laser rifle: micro pulse variant: every .5 seconds a mass pulse is shot down the laser doing more dmg.
just a few thoughts.. please add more if you guys are having similar thoughts

just a few thoughts.. please add more if you guys are having similar thoughts The Mass Driver Flux round sounds nice. Assault Rifles shoot Plasma, so they are ALWAYS incendiary. Shotguns also fire Plasma, but the way they process it causes it to be unstable. They can't get it to go further. The Laser Rifle should just have different focus crystals to change its range and damage output.

I rather finally have the modular weapon system which allows us to modify our weapons instead of getting more weapon variants.

Different focal crystals would be awesome. As an Amarr I trained into lasers only to be disappointed by CQC with lasers so different crystals would solve that problem and allow me to use my factions weapon.
And a pulse laser would be a great CQC weapon.

I'm kinda happy with that idea of ammo types
-The Gallante shotgun gets high energy capacity rounds which fire plasma for longer but requires longer time between rounds (single round, short live, short range flame thrower). -The swarm launcher gets dumb missiles so they don't lock on and are slightly more powerful -The rail rifle gets injector rounds that do much, much lower damage but lowers the speed of the target as well slowly sapping HP for a few seconds -The laser rifle gets its light producer replaced with a souped up magnetron for close range clone cooking -The combat rifle gets polarized rounds that slightly curve towards enemies that have shields (full shields, higher curve)
