Personally I find there are few tactics you can use except the obvious.
-Don't go into open areas EVER.
-Don't shoot if they are more than 25m away, otherwise you're just alerting them to your presence and also wasting ammo.
-Don't try to take a wide flanking path. You're too slow. The enemies will either all be dead by the time you get there, or they will have moved on. If you need to advance in a firefight, go straight ahead.
-I find that high regen fits are more effective than high buffer fits. My ADV heavy frame uses 2 complex reppers and 2 basic shield energizers for maximum regen.
-Armor upgrades and Shield upgrades are your friends. Max those core skills out.
-Two heavies together are a two man army. If you have a heavy friend you can squad up with, do it.
But yeah, there isn't that much more to say, you're a slow-walking tank with surprisingly low TTK, there will probably be a huge change in heavy tactics come 1.8, but until then stay in CQC.
This is a signature.

Carry a Scrambler pistol as a sidearm (soon the rail pistol). It increases your accurate engagement range and allows for precision headshots should someone decide to play whack-a-mole with you from behind some boxes.

Find a logi and love him.
He will love you back, and you will find the you become quite a bit more powerful with a logi at your side (or, more accurately, a few steps behind you).
Pair two heavy/logi combos and rule the enclosed area of just about any map.
Good luck & hope this helps...Leadfoot |

Logi Bro and LeadFoot 10 already covered most of the details.

There was someone around here who had a mouse plugged in for precise aiming with his Forge Gun. That way he could run with the D3 controller at higher x & y sensitives.
Now that I'm only running HMGs all of the x & y (including Aiming-Down-Signts) are at 100. CQB has gotten that rough. One pleasant side effect is there are more opportunities to use ADS. If you're not too exposed (or death is eminent) crouching works. While crouched and aiming I've drilled enemies at scandalous ranges. The trick being to line up the shot fast as possible then start shooting since the weapon flash will blind you.
Here, have some candy and a Like. :-)

Most important when strafing another heavy never go side to side.
Do a continuous circle straife and stay ahead of his spray while aiming for the head. Pick one direction and stay with it.

I agree about marrying a logi and we compliment each other well, except when i cap his ass in factional. Armor, reload, and ammo is the pattern i use to spec up. And stay the F out of the open.

Adv. Sentinel, AR / HMG

I would recommend speccing into Kinetic Catilyzers, nothing better than a Heavy that can keep just ahead of his Logi. |

Always close the gap between yourself and the enemy, your strength is up close and personal.
If a logi has you on a leash, go berserk.
Lavs are your friend.
Know that your enemy has you on radar most of the time.

Im not a heavy with a light weapon, indeed i love logi especially the core focus, i max shield and armor core upgrade long ago, but now idk what heavy race suit i want either, i always move around while shooting unless a heavy crouch and shoot then i do the same thing because it always fun to go 1vs1

Duel heavies squaded= boss. When moving in the open, move together, each watching a sector to your front. When depending each take a doorway, and when assaulting a building, each take a hallway (its absolute murder n the lil building with the hall way y h window and the one near the stair cases. They have no where to go)
