recharger - logi only and comes pre fit to all logi suits.
this logi only item (because its on the suit) charges equipment allowing the logibro to never have to restock. this comes at the cost of losing the equipment slot to fit it

Or like those other games where a support role can bring ammo/reps through some sort of stamina-bar.
Equipment is nice for ewar...not for spam equipment support. |

I say logi's get a drone slot. with a few variants of drones. There'd be Shield transfer drones, nano drones that restock useable equipment/ammo, armor rep drones, and perhaps even scanning drones, that constantly scan in a radius around them.
They'd follow you, or, you could chose to "attach" them to someone through a squad order-like menu. then the person it's attached to gets the bonuses. |

Why bother making it logi only? Nobody else gets more than one slot.
Except scouts but that seems fine to me.
I'm not a fan of restricting access to things based on dropsuit. I'd prefer it if mediums suits could fit heavy weapons for example. They should be like cloaks though and chew through large amounts of fitting unless you're a heavy.
As for your idea itself I'm not keen on it. It seems unnecessary and takes away some strategy (do I deploy this now or save it for later....). |

With a major logi nerf in 1.8 pending i support this.
Logis will need SOMETHING to make them playable with those crappy eq stats. (except scanners)
And potentially fatal suit nerf. (compare AV to vehicles (1.7) to get a good idea how bad logis are going to be vs any other suit)

Drones have HP, and can be destroyed, furthermore they could give away a scouts (or anyones) location if misused.
As long as you could attach it to yourself. Another addition to your thought, It would be nice to be able to have a Combat drone, to protect you while repping somone. Logi drones are nice but I played a match today where 9/10th of the team were in logi medic suits the entire match. Everyone was giving or getting reps and we still lost because there were so few people actually using their weapons.

Mediums with heavy weapons?
They'd definitely need to be heavy on PG (Because I guess that energy is the kind of thing that a heavy weapon really needs) and maybe consume stamina while firing (Which would be offset by myofibrills and cardio modules), but I definitely like the sound of it.
At they very least, it should vastly increase recoil.
It would also be fun to allow scouts to use them, but only if they go stationary. So they'd fight with sidearm only, until they find a nice position, take out their forge gun and start shooting at tanks. The fact that they can't strafe would fully balance this option.

I guess that's another use for inertial dampeners.
