I was leading a full squad, half Third Day, other half was Abbykinz, and Illusions(not accurate, I know). But, we went into a pub match, and the opposite team was spamming tanks, there were about three Madrugars, six Sicas, and five Somas by the time the match ended(vehicle limit makes this impossible, if you continue reading, you'll know why). Nonetheless, Burninprophecy had spawned in a tank, and I was running around with STD Remote Explosives, there were also a couple blueberries with forges, and swarms. Burn had broken two to three Sicas/Somas in total with his, although his tank got destroyed twice. With strategic placement of my remotes, I had destroyed at least four Sicas/Somas. My fifth didn't quite work as planned, I got it down to the last sliver of health, and a blueberry forged it, giving me a kill assist.
In full overveiw, the Somas and Sicas are at the perfect balance. The Madrugars were impossible to kill thanks to them holding hardeners, and fuel injectors. The Somas and Sicas were poorly built, but moderately well on operation by their drivers. In basic consensus; The Somas and Sicas in that match required a bit of teamwork not only with my squad members, but also with the rest of the team, and it worked great which lead to a battle win against these tank spammers. This, I approve of, as a tank shouldn't be EASY to take down. As I had ran AV Grenades before 1.6, I could kill an LAV with two STD, a STD HAV with three STD AV Grenades, and Enforcers with roughly five to six depending on the modules, and the operator.
In opinion, AV Grenades shouldn't be able to kill Tanks, but should be able to kill LAV's, or the planned "Speeder" vehicles. As a matter of fact, the AV Grenades should be bug deterrant for the Tanks, or...something to break the tracks with(with the right angling, and position, of course). What tank pilots fail to realize; Their blaster tanks at ADV and higher(with prototype modules), are most DEFINITELY OP. There is absolutely NO argument on this seeing how they can run three hardeners, and survive a WARBARGE strike like a cockroach with a nuke. Simply driving out of the strike with a fuel injector is a poor excuse to this statement, as nonetheless, you STILL could've just sat inside of the strike with your hardeners on, and survived it. You just wanted to save them for a more dangerous situation, most likely, such as a breach forge.
Thirdly, Forge Guns shouldn't be "Tickle Me Silly" weapons. If ANYTHING, Forge Guns should be Enforcer Class destroyers. Swarm Launchers should be moved to the ADV, and STD level destroyers. Simply put, LAV's should be avoiding AV Grenades at all costs, Tanks should be wary of AV Grenades, Tanks should be Scared of swarm launchers, and Tanks should be shitting themselves when they encounter a Forge Gun.
Side Note: Moving a Plasma Cannon into the Heavy Weapon class, and making it an effective AV against Caldari Vehicles would be pretty nice.

Yesterday, there was one battle where the enemy team had about 5 HAVs out.
We still won because we did the smart thing I always say to do- stay in cover and kill any infantry that go for the objective. Because of all the HAVs, they had practically no infantry presence to overrun the objective.

Forges are balanced, probably the most balanced of all AV. Swarms need a small buff to threaten dropships a bit more, but light weapons should not severely threaten heavy armor.
1v1 and all things equal, the best AVer should not beat the best vehicleer based on equipment alone. Things like ambush tactics, traps, and teamwork must be used to get an edge over vehicles

That is an awesome sig, lmfao. And yeah, I've noticed that as well. If there's enough HAV's out, it turns into Scout Heaven. And if you stick remotes on your scout, you'll probably take about a few HAV's before the match is over. So...it's not all that bad, you just gotta think a little. And you can be surprised by how Americans are lacking that ability now-a-days...I blame CoD, and BF.

That...is why I said move the Plasma Cannons to the Heavy Class. xD Have you seen what those things do to the Sheilds of a tank? They're like Fluxes, and the damage they deal to Armor on Tanks is almost equal to Proxy Remotes, if not, more.

True, and as an AVer I agree with you. Swarms, however, are the one anti armor weapon that is useless against infantry unless they are hit by splash damage. So it should be primary in the AV game. Forge guns are multi purpose. AV nades and swarms are strictly vehicular. You gotta carry the submachine gun for anti infantry.

It's not quite the fact that it limits them only to heavies, but it's more or less the fact that it has such a long range, such a high damage, and such a slow reload speed. I just think, the overall build of this weapon is better fit to be a heavy weapon than a light weapon. If you haven't noticed, majority of the light weapons are moderate reload, large clip, moderate damage, moderate range, ect. ect. The Plasma Cannon goes almost completely against all of these alignments, and the only thing it really matches up to is a Mass Driver on steroids...so therefore; Heavy Weapon.

Nice! Totally right! The only good things that have come out of 1.7's tank debocle is squading up and woeking together. When the match starts, I don't care if you've never fought together before, you better have a anti armor plan! Remotes, proxies everywhere, infantry got fluxes or av's, swarm fits and forge fits on standby, etc. I don't agree with running from ANYBODY! Tank if you want to! Some tankers have already learned we coming for you!

Edit: Also, in the description they say it's a close quarters weapon, which I can understand due to the Splash Radius, I don't understand why they would give it such a long range unless you want mortar fire on a certain area, and even then...it's difficult to accomplish unless you're a good shot.
No... Just No.
Nobody would use PLCs if you had them on Sentinels. They deal the least damage of all the Primary AV weapons and pale in comparison to the Forge Gun. Using them requires significant speed in CQC to allow strafing during the spool up time, which is something that Sentinels could never provide.
The Plasma Cannon can already bit fit by the Sentinel class anyways. Limiting it to Sentinels simply because PLCs are the odd ones out the bunch is idiotic at best.
Exactly how many builds do you want to screw over?
TL:DR? Bad idea is bad, and you should feel bad for suggesting it.

One time he lol1shot a Gunnlogi; hit it between the turret and the hull.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.

Give forges their nerf back so it was like before and then all forgers would make tank s**t their oil by the gallons!!
I definitely agree with swarms getting the buff they needed for so long but what would it be?
We all gave how to balance light weapons... rifles in particular. More of the RR, AR ( nerfed TAC), and laser rifle ( nerfed to Skyrim's Alduin and spit out into Oblivion to be shouted at by the Dragonborn for all eternity) but CCP decided that the older nerfs were fine and decided to introduce new guns instead of balancing the past they failed do worked upon to divert attention.

Maybe the heavy variant could be a bigger version that fires 3 consecutive Plasma spheres at quick succession? Maybe keep the 1 per Chamber thing, but make it reload a bit faster? |

lol plasma canon. That thing is so weak that a proto heavy can survive a direct hit from it. Its true ive once took a direct hit from it at full health. Survived with like 240HP and killed the guy while he was reloading the thing.

Okay, so apparently everyone is missing my point on the Plasma Cannons...I'm not talking about simply moving the damn thing to the heavy class, I'm talking about remodeling the stats on it to turn it into an effective AV Sheild weapon. Something that could be used instead of fluxes. How many people REALLY want to run up to a tank, flux the thing, run away, and shoot it? If you remodel the damage output, you can flux a Caldari Tank in ONE SHOT, have your friend with the forge gun right next to you, and break the thing. Teamwork, I think so. In my very first post, in what started this thread, I did mention a slight remodeling to the Plasma Cannon. A simple change to the stats, and making it a Heavy Weapon on equal footing with the Swarm Launcher, yet instead effective against SHEILDS, would be the right way to go in my opinion.
Please, if you missed this, re-read what I have said. Edit: Err...okay, I was vague on that part, sorry. My mistake, I see why everyone missed it.
