I have 92% wifi connection and I'm getting the worst lag spikes and frame rate issues I think I've ever seen in this game's history.

The lag has been fierce these last couple of days. At first I thought it was just the equipment spam the enemy was clearly doing, but the problem persisted without equipment spam, and after a fresh reinstall.
I've been getting a lot of delay mostly, so no matter how well I aim, most shots simply don't connect.

I had absolutely terrible lag today. Several matches I was in I just gave up and sat in the MCC. It took me about 3 minutes to hack a CRU, and then another 4 minutes to hack the nearby objective. I was running around and my forearm was still hacking the objective event though I was way outside of the building. My friend in my squad also just got randomly moved over 100m from doing nothing. He didn't even know where he ended up for a few seconds.
It started yesterday, in which there were two matches that were laggy, but today was awful. Lost a lot of suits and quite a bit of ISK from it as the afternoon went on.

The server has risen a little bit, but I don't think that a change as slight as this would throw the server into instability. Remember averaging 8k players?

I must have been lucky but prior to the last two weeks I had only encountered severe lag a handful of times.
I'm not in PC so maybe that helps.
Since that time I have had 1 or 2 out of every 10 games with such severe lag it was unplayable. Players and vehicles are flashing across the map and multiple players have the issue where they continue in a straight line indefinitely.
Not sure what changed, but definitely hasn't been an improvement since 1.7

If there are playesr with no lag issues you can't say is unplayable unless all the players of dust have the same problem. Yes there is a lot of issues for players with Wifi like you can't shoot or move, lag kills, or when you respawn the screen will be black for enough time to get killed again, teleporting to who knows where when you move and more stuff like that. CCP is not forcing players to use Wife is an option if you can use wire it could be better if you can't is like.. "Deal with it" Free to Play game i don't know if some issues can be totally fixed.
I have Wifi too i don't like the non stability of it but is my only option to play when i can. |

just to put to rest any idea that this issue is isolated to WIFI:
I got me a healthy serving of "WTF: Lag?" pie yesterday, and i am not using WIFI on my PS3 currently.
the full blown shebang:
-engaging mercs that suddenly float off along a horizontal plane... firing weapons sometimes but otherwise frozen in time (but not space... infact mercs suddenly now have mini jet packs and can hover out over dead drops).
-unable to hit targets in crosshairs... even if they sit really really still, problem is worse in tanks, where the hits register much much later, wasting precious ammo
-enemy rubberband teleports and superpowered speedy boots... :( I miss CoH/CoV ..
-Me rubberbanding, trying to move around objects and getting deja vu for the next minute... of moving around that object.....repeatedly.... in sports action video playback style... \o/ yaaaay.
just to reiterate, all this was on cable to modem... not wifi

Lag hasn't been particularly bad on my wireless modem even on the nortoriuos map. That's with half a dozen games before taking a break. However Sometimes there isn't any firing animation for my HMG yet people still die. Hit detection is still going hot and cold. In several games I can crouch and snipe. Next game someone can be running right in front of me and take neglable damage.

I kept thinking it was me and I suck too much but this week everything's been horrible. I'm hitting people and I guess the lag says no. I'm trying to avoid fire by hiding behind a crate but the lag says no. I don't want to jump off of the pipes but the lag says GTFO.
Seriously. I don't know what it is this week but we need a good hotfix.

We had a good bit of lag this evening as well -- around 10pm in a PC match. Didn't seem to be equipment lag, but there were both framerate and rubber banding reported by multiple people. |

I keep getting this massive rubber band lag that lasts for 3-5 matches at a time, literally no escaping. I just hang around in the redline and wait for the match to end and try again. Absolutely unplayable.
Most the time the game runs fine, but when it's bad it's really bad and it doesn't go away quickly.

Today, I was in a tank. I nicely fit tank with a big red bow. I tried to move this tank about 10m forward. I applied pressure to the stick. When I saw that I, indeed, had successfully moved 10m forward, I stopped applying said pressure to the stick. It turned out I had moved 100m forward off a cliff and there were two railguns firing at me.
I died and so did my tank. When I respawned I took the charred remains of my bestest friend back to where she was built and laid her to rest. Killed by lag, the unkillable fiend.

Same. Got frustrated trying to hit people with AR/RR/HMG so I simply went to the hills with a sniper rifle. Showed me missing shots I KNOW I hit, and hit regularly. I gave up for today, maybe tomorrow. |

You need to add a step in your sniping. 'Pray that the hit detection registers your shot as a hit.' The hit detection for sniper rifles is something that desperatly needs fixing.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.

Ive been having allot of deaths the last 2 days, going from 1-3 a game to 6-11, ive even shot a guy for half of my tripple damage modded CR in the face and he didnt loose health until i was at the end of my clip.
Deaths, where i couldnt react and i am all about my fast reaction speed, it would explain allot because if someone is already shooting at me for half a second it would explain the instant deaths ive been having.
Something did change, i just dunno.

I guess it's all because the common ping of players in your matches. For example some japanese squad decided to visit american server. They were lagging, and you were lagging too

CCP should disable the ability to change regions, it would be the BEST-FASTEST-CHEAPEST way to REALLY improve this game! |

I have not been on much in the last 3 days, so I have only experienced one of these matches.
It was an interesting experience trying to predict where someone would teleport to after running in place for 3 seconds. About half way through the ambush match I started getting the hang of it and started getting kills.
I had to chuckle envisioning my bullets hanging motionless in the air, and then suddenly flying across the room and taking out someone just walking into a room I had already left.

Iam on wire and same here, yesterday i instaled game for try after (i pressume) two months and i have just two good (without lag) games. Lag is defo issue here, but actually try wire your Ps3 it will be slightly better.

Ha...I spent one hole match running around shooting people with a nanohive in front of me instead of my rifle.....aiming was a *****...

Ok, so I just got out of two matches in a row with a particular south american corporation who shall remain nameless (though Hugo Chavez would be extremely proud of). In the first match, the lag made the game unplayable, not only were there rubberbands, there was also this suspect behavior where the reddots would be standing stock still and I fired an entire magazine of Dren Shotgun into them and they didn't die until the final shot. Yes, I was standing so close to them that if it had been in real life, my shotgun would have been in their *******. This occurred several times, on top of that, the rubberbanding was so very terrible that their vehicles were teleporting around the map. We were unable to hack the objective in the beginning because I was hacking it and it just sat there at a full circle for roughly another 30 seconds after the hack should've been completed. Needless to say, we lost this match, nearly everyone on my team went horribly negative and the members of this corp all went ridiculous positive as in 10:1 or greater.
In the second match, they were on our side. Needless to say we won handily, this isn't to say that the same lag issues weren't present for us. There were rubberbands, there were teleporting vehicles and all in all, it was fairly ridiculous. IDK how it was for the opposing team, though I can't imagine it was much different for them than it was for us in the previous match.
CCP, if you expect people to spend money on Dust, you NEED to address issues like this. I am not definitively stating that there was cheating going on though I wouldn't be surprised if it were. Cheating or no, this is something that needs to be addressed and addressed quickly. People are spending real money on this game and if there is cheating going on, they are effectively being robbed by the cheaters; if there is no cheating going on, they are effectively being robbed by you due to the shoddy connection conditions.
I am not definitively placing blame on any party involved, though I feel the need to bring this up.
CCP, Please do something, either upgrade your hardware to handle the connection (or give countries with little to no connection speed their own version of Serenity) or aggressively target anyone found to be cheating (there are condition I know you can track that will indicate cheating or at the very least point you in the right direction for further investigation).
These players, if there are cheating players to be found, are no better than RMTers in Eve, treat them the same.

So... PC lag was fixed by moving it to pub matches?
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.
